Directly across the street from the Wang Center, the Shubert is the latest recipient of a much-needed overhaul. Treated to a $3 million renovation in 1996, the 1,680-seat venue now boasts a bright lobby, accented with touches of gold paint and brass railings, and an interior that sparkles the way it did when it was built in 1910. Now under the same management that handles the Wang Center, the Shubert is slated to become one of the more active venues in the city in the coming years.
