Kanoko rocks, the rest not so much.... Kanoko was the backbone of this salon.

since her maternity leave, my hair has suffered from the inept skills of other self-proclaimed "stylists".

I've been her loyal client and friend for 3 plus years (for haircuts, body waves and color correction)

she's always on point. each cut is precise, and always grows out beautifully. her skills saved me every time I "strayed".

I have not been back since her leave, but had scheduled an appointment with another stylist upon her recommendation.

when I called to cancel that appointment, the receptionist (with very poor English communication) said I was never scheduled......

this salon would benefit immensely if their staffs were able to communicate with their clients effectively.

the owner? he is not friendly. he once even questioned whether I paid for a salon purchase. (this was the first and only time he spoke to me, after being a loyal client there for over 3 yrs).

Kanoko really is a skilled stylist, without her... this salon is lacking.

Great Japanese Hair Straightening!. I usually have trouble finding salons that are willing to work with my thick hair and when I do, they often try to convince me to cut it all off. Mike did the japanese straightening on my hair and didn't gripe once. My hair came out straighter and smoother than it's ever been in my entire life. Everyone is amazed at the results.

Naomi-san is the best!. I've tried many salons...in Washington DC, Paris, London, and Boston...both non-Japanese and Japanese hair salons. With my Asian hair, the salon that did the best for my hair is Hot Gossip. They have Japanese magazines you can read, if you are not sure what you are looking for. First, they test your hair as you come in. Then the shampoo that is so professional and caring just like the one you get in Japan("is it too hot, are you doing ok?" warm towel underneith your neck upon laying your head on the sink etc.), light neck&scalp massage with this soothing massage oil for your scalp. Then the haircut. I always feel like a million bucks walking out from the salon and sense people checking me(or my hair) out on Newbury Street! I recommend Naomi, she is the only woman who is allowed to touch my hair.

Trendy & Japanese style. From straightening to waves ... !! you can never go wrong !! I've been to this salon for 6 times, even for once it didn't come out to be what I asked for, it turned out to be very pretty! got lots of compliments after getting my hair done from hot gossip! always!

Loved it. I absolutely loved this place. My stylist was incredibly nice and did a great job with my hair. It was definitely worth my money.
