I am not sure if it is company policy to lie and cheat customers, or if it is merely the actions of the employees who happened to be on duty at that moment. Dependable cleaners advertises discounts to their rather exorbitant rates in order to rope in customers. The cleaner decided not to honor the discount... AFTER they had taken my clothes. They then said that the truck had taken the clothes away so there was nothing they could do about it. A blatant lie, since I was there and saw no such truck come in, in the few minutes between dropping off my clothes and asking why there was no discount applied. They essentially held my clothes hostage (11 pieces) while they spewed out one lie after another. Their creativity in this area knows no bounds. I do hope it is not company policy to outright lie in advertising and then extort customers. Hopefully it is merely the act of a couple of employees. Either way, I don't expect I will be back here. The total charge was $83.99 for 11 items, a robbery. They didn't reveal their prices before I dropped off my clothes. When I asked them for a price sheet, they responded as though I were asking the dumbest question on Earth. I am not sure they realize what this apalling display cost them. I own a business near their Back Bay location, and am now forbidding my employees from using them. Any deliveries from them to our building will be refused.
Pros: Decent job cleaning clothes.
Cons: Lousy service, lying staff, parking is a nightmare, they did not honor their advertised discount... after they had taken control of my clothes. And refused to give them back or cancel the order!
