The Scene – A well-kept secret for local professionals, Sweetwater Cafe draws a hearty after-work crowd. The open floor plan, sizable bar, plethora of seating and casual attitude make for an unstuffy place to unwind with a pint and a group of friends. Wrought-iron lanterns hanging over the bar and mismatched knickknacks provide an eclectic touch. Service is accommodating and attentive. – – The Draw – In the bawdy cluster of bars known as the Alley, Sweetwater provides the most down-to-earth option. Defying the spring-break crudeness of the Big Easy and glitzy attitude…

2 friends and i went there on a monday night. we arrived around 7 for dinner and we were planning to go elsewhere afterwards for drinks. we had the spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer and it was probably the best spinach dip i have ever had (i am kind of a spinach and artichoke snob):-) i had the mac and cheese for dinner which was fabulous and my friends had the fried chicken salad and the grilled cheese and tomato soup. we loved our dinner and were surprised it was not very expensive. we had some wine and beer with dinner and everything was great. we ended up staying there for the entire night and had some great cocktails. meghan was our bartender and she was so good. the drinks were perfect not weak at all but not so strong we could not drink them. overall we were really excited to find this place and will definately be back again. we were told they have a d.j. on friday and saturday nights and also in the basement they have rock bands. i think i will be back here many more times!
- Pros: loved the food and the drinks!
- Cons: never knew about this place before:)
Always a good time!!

This place is always a good time. The best spot in the neighborhood for good bar food. The kitchen stays open late most nights. The drinks are mostly well priced. Beers are cheap and they usually have a DJ or band playing. Nice place to grab some beers, chill out and watch a game. Not pretentious like the only Alley bars. just a comfortable, friendly vibe.
- Pros: Patio in summer
