Editorial Review for Aria – by Alison Bulman
The Scene
After security thoroughly searches your bag and body, long-awaited entry is finally permitted. A red carpeted staircase descends onto a foyer overlooking a large, lavish, red room lit with chandeliers and candlelight. A large white upholstered phallic symbol doubling as a seatback rises from the center. The room brims with faces sizing up the latest newcomers in the foyer and the two salacious dancers on pedestals that frame it. Booties bump to the DJ's infectious bass. Fashion moguls J-Lo and Puffy clearly set the style bar among this ethnically diverse, twenty-something crowd.
The Draw
Crowds relish the celebrity worthy atmosphere. An all-white mosaic room and a small, cushy lounge are intimate escapes from the more crowded main room. Hip-hop and R&B promote carnal courting on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Saturday's DJ plays classic hits. Wednesday "Lust" nights are gay-oriented. Style reigns supreme at Thursday night fashion shows, industry parties and events open to the public.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoTraffic in the area is unbearable. Save yourself the headache and take the T instead.
Save TimeTo avoid the wait at the velvet rope, call the club in advance and leave a message with your name, the night you plan to come, and the number of people in your group. Staff will likely put you on the list. There is no list on Tuesdays.
The ExtrasDon't carry anything too personal in your bag. Security searches its contents in plain view of everyone at the door.

The 2008 New Year's Eve party was a thorough dissappointment. First of all it was publicized as a Desi Party on many Websites. On calling the organizers before buying the tickets we were told that it will have a mix of indian and other music, but there was not even a single desi track played by the DJ nor any requests taken, the event was too pricy and was over-crowded for the price, the dance floor was messy and under-staffed. All in all a waste of time and considering we drove from Portland to attend the party it was a disaster. Not recommended at all!!!
Pros: None
Cons: Service, Crowd, Ambience

Having to start going to Aria i realized that i dont need to around only one race while clubbing. I have a great time with my girls when i go to the club on Fridays. DJ BIG and DJ UPTOWN spin the hottest beats and they try to mix it up once in awhile i do recommend this club on Friday nights i always have a good time. This is my first time message so just letting everyone know what is going down at ARIA
Pros: the two djs DJ big and DJ uptown and the bartenders
Cons: parking
