Terrible terrible service!. Went for a birthday party last night. Always had a good time with good service, ambiance etc. in the past but last night was terrible! Bonnie was our server and I'm not sure if she was having a really bad day but her manners were despicable to say the least! We were greeted by her agressive behavior which continued throughout the night. Needless to say we will positively never be going back there. Not sure if the establishment knows what kind of people they are employing but she was classless and should not be working with the public!

Food is an afterthought to pool playing, shot slamming and beer swilling on the roof deck.. The Scene
After being greeted by an aggressive brigade of doormen, you'll soon find yourself surrounded by a hoard of leering ex-frat boys. Nevertheless, despite it's less than optimum view (unless you like staring at the back of brick buildings), the Rattlesnake's cozy roof deck is still quite a find in a city with few to offer; and the buildings do block the breeze.

The Draw
Besides the regular attractions found in bars, Rattlesnake has a fairly sophisticated food menu. Crab and scallop cakes, fresh and only slightly fried, are well-matched to a smoky roasted red pepper rouille. Apricot shrimp saute is nice in theory, but in practice a waste of shrimp. Cuban-style whole chicken, braised, marinated in fruit and baked, is a juicy balance of sweet and tang. Stay away from the absurdly dry shrimp and chorizo saute.

Rattlesnake rip-off. The rattlesnake is over priced, with very average food. Going in for a beer or two after work may not be a bad idea, but don't waste your time and money dinning.

bar lacks bite. Its a decent bar, with a nice roof deck but always crowded in summer. The crowd is a little stuffy and older, which is fine if you are coming from the Financial District after work. You can get better drinks elsewhere, including their Margaritas.

They're not kidding!. They're not kidding - the food really is an afterthought, for a restaurant-goer and the restaurant itself... the food was fair at best, not much in the "normal" department to opt for if you aren't feeling adventurous. The place is cool, kind of a basement feel to it. Great drinks, a lot of fun as long as you keep the food as an afterthought!

OK if you like old people. Take it from me, unless you are 35 or older, stay away. It's a cool place but it mostly fills with older working types with ties partially losened and sleeves rolled up.

It's Just OK. Don't get too psyched about this place, it's seriously..just OK.

The food is decent, but the service is dreadful and, oh, by the way, has anyone seen the atmosphere?? If you're meeting someone you haven't seen in years, fine. Otherwise, there's a ton of better choices.

Staff has poor attitude. Waiting to go out on the roof deck, we got drinks at the inside bar at the doorman's suggestion. We were seated by the hostess at a table. The waitress gave us a rambling lecture that the table was her area and we shouldnt be bringing drinks from the bar. I explained that we were seated there by the hostess and we had came in with them. About 5 minutes later the original hostess came over and went on about the same thing. I mentioned that it was she herself who had seated us and why did she do it if it was a problem. The response I got was, "well, It doesnt matter to YOU where you get drinks, but this is HER table, she OWNS it". A simple "welcome, next time you need something, let me know and I'll serve you" would have sufficed.

All around great. The Rattlesnake is an all around great bar, whether its for a place to get drinks after work or to go to late in the evening. Rattlesnake attracts a great crowd, from yuppies to older professionals. The roofdeck helps add to the relaxed atmosphere and is a great place to hang out in the summer months.Great food too! and reasonably priced.

Don't be frightened by the name. Before I went here, I thought it was a tough bar by the name....but surprisingly people were very nice...men & women. Half decent atmopshere. Good drinks. Very friendly crowed. Cool roof deck. Casual yet trendy and hip. No cover.
