Great pub and comedy club right next to the best night clubs in Boston!. Remingtons is a great bar and restaraunt tucked snuggly between a few of the hottest night clubs in Boston. Not only does Remingtons have great food and a huge drink selection, but downstairs there is also a comedy clubs that has shows every night. It's the perfect night out: have dinner, see and comedy show, then step into the night club scene and party!

The real "cheers" bar. From what I read on the menu, back in the '80s Remington's was the only restaurant around the common. Since then, bourgeoisie martini bars have sprung up like weeds along Boylston street and I can honestly say that in the past two and a half decades, Remington's has held on to it's authentic laid-back, relaxing vibe. A seat at the brass-ringed bar gives a great view of one of the tvs regularly tuned to family feud in the afternoons or david letterman at night. The irish bar tender was friendly, served an excellent dirty martini and greeted a 'regular' customer with a smile and fresh drink while I munched an artichoke and feta pizza baked just right. Maybe one of the only remaining bars in Boston that serves pabst blue ribbon on draught, and the only bar to keep fresh decks of trivial pursuit cards on hand for those awkward first dates or boring dinner companions.

Solid. Completely decent pub grub on the edge of the theater district. I had a steak that was done right, some pretty good wings and a nice bowl of chowder. Nothing overly gourmet, but very solid. Service was polite and speedy. Prices are moderate, but in this area, it's Chinatown for cheap eats and expensive or terrible, so this is a solid alternative. They take an Entertainment Book coupon that also makes it a better deal (one entree free) for 2.

Dreadful. Restaurant not crowded & despite abundance of wait staff, the service was awful. Lunch entrees were on menu but we were told we could only order from the lunch sandwich section, because entrees werent served until dinner (depending on which cook was working). Ordered water with lemon to drink; water came, lemons didnt; after asking again, lemon never arrived. Waitress took a long time to return for food order. Sandwiches were well prepared and tasted good (compliments to the cook) but we ran out of drink & never got refill until we managed to find the waitress, who was very busy chatting with other staff, and requested refill. Received check & barely had enough time to look it over when waitress returned to collect it. Summary: Good food - typical bar sandwiches, but dont expect good service, waitresses arent good at their job and too busy socializing to care.

AWFUL!!!. Remington's is not the place to go. After waiting close to a half hour for a table after being told it would be a 10-minute wait, the host started to seat a couple who had just walked in. Finally we were seated, and waited a considerable time for a waitress. The waitress was rude and did not acknowledge our thankyou's when she brought our silverware or drinks. The soda was flat, and I asked for a new one. After taking my drink away, the host came back to inform me that there was nothing wrong with my soda. He was telling me that I was mistaken about the soda being flat. Who lies about their soda being flat? Anyway, we ended up just walking out rather than stay and wonder if they had maybe done something to our food. Save your time and money, don't bother with this place.
