Editorial Review for Armani Cafe – by Eric Grossman

The Scene
The key word here is--naturally--fashion. Black-clad waiters distribute designer drinks and sleek dishes of contemporary Italian fare to a jet-set mix of tourists and international students. The sidewalk patio guarantees an unbeatable spot to see and be seen, while the indoor bar and dining room offer a more subdued environment.

The Food
While the majority of patrons comes for the scene, the food is actually quite good. Dishes are stylishly presented, full color. An heirloom tomato salad is a picture-perfect summer starter. Pasta dishes include a creamy bucatini cabornara and a flavorful saffron-shrimp risotto. Standards like veal scaloppine and chicken saltimbocca are available for the less adventurous. Desserts stand out--a delightful vanilla panna cotta is served with black cherries, while creme fraiche, peaches and Bing cherries fill a martini glass.

Good job citysearch editors. This place has been closed for a year... One of the hottest tables in Boston though.

I didn't find the food awful, but nor did I find it memorable. 1. Menu was somewhat basic and unimaginative 2. My martini wasn't really chilled correctly and the bar wasn't busy 3. They were out of pizza because they had no flour. I find this baffling - they were sending someone to Shaw's but this shows that the place is not that well run. 4. My spaghetti with tomatoes, argula and basis was pretty good as was the tiramisu dessert
