Azure

Contemporary American cuisine with a sophisticated twist

  • Award Winning Chef
  • Now Serving Lunch
  • Special Events

Inspired by the rich blue hues of the ocean, Azures menu and concept are designed to be as clear and understated as the color palette itself. Nationally recognized Executive Chef Robert Fathman creates contemporary American cuisine with a sophisticated edge and an emphasis on fresh seafood. Known for his innovation and playful risk-taking in the kitchen, Fathman decribes Azure's cuisine as "clearly American with subtle French, Asian, Latin, and Mediterranian influences. Flavors and ingredients are treated with respect and integrity, but there is enough balance and flavor to appeal to everyone's taste." Azure's menu features inspired seafood dishes that showcase regional ingredients from Northeast and Pacific coast waters.

Editorial Review for Azure – by Eric Grossman

The Scene
Indirect lighting behind yellow curtains suffuses this cavernous space with a golden light that plays off cobalt tiles above the kitchen; frosted glass keeps the chefs cloaked in mystery. Genteel formality holds sway, as hotel guests pop in wearing jeans, while business types come straight from the boardroom. Efficient servers keep water glasses filled and deliver wickedly inventive house drinks (watermelon mojitos, passion fruit margaritas) from the stylishly illuminated bar.

The Food
Azure's menu emphasizes top-shelf game and seafood, served with artful accompaniments: pan-seared duck breast arrives with a mound of sweet and sour cabbage, while golden trout is served with cheesy grits, apple-smoked bacon and a savory rock shrimp stew. Exceptionally creative starters include oysters "in bondage"--bivalves encrusted in smoked salmon and potato--and steak tartare that's served with white truffle-cognac dressing and a quail egg. Quirky desserts include offbeat cakes (wild huckleberry cheesecake) and homemade apple doughnuts.

We used to like this restaurant. Last night we had one of the worst dining experiences of all time!. First, we used the valet and he told my husband it would be $16. My husband handed him a $20 bill and the valet wanted to know if he wanted change. If there is to be a tip, it would happen later. Next, the menu did not even begin to approximate what it was on line. They need a new bartender. My martini had so much lemon juice in it that it was totally undrinkable. Returned it for something else which was equally lemony. (Don't think it was fresh lemon juice either.) Apps were OK. I ordered a kobe burger which arrived absolutely raw. When I had to send that back, they left my husband's dinner sitting on the table for nearly 15 minutes turning cold as we awaited the return of the burger which, when it finally came back, was now horribly overcooked and once again, inedible. In the meantime, the almond encrusted sand dabs that had turned cold in front of my husband turned out to be something else. Cod maybe??? Our waiter never came to the table to check on anything. It was clear he was hiding. Manager apologized but there was no help for the awful food, drink and service we received. At these prices there is no excuse for this kind of ineptitude.

Cons: Food,drink,service,valet

My girlfrend and I had a V day dinner at Azure on Thursday night. The $75.00/person was a great deal! I had the Grilled Swordfish and Lisa had the Pan Seared Venison Medallion. For dessert we had the White Crème, Cherry Goo. We loved the place and would go back again soon.

Pros: Custmer service

Cons: Small but nice
