A bit pricey and inconsistent (good & bad experience). I've been to Bangkok Blue two different times. The first time I went there was pretty good. My friend got the pad thai and I got the pad see ew. Both dishes were pretty solid. I had a couple of sodas which cost a few dollars each. I was surprised the sodas were not refillable. The second time was worse. I ordered the pad see ew again but the sauce was lacking some ingredient as the entire dish tasted very bland. Bangkok Blue must have had a bad or new chef that night because my friend ordered the green curry and it too was unimpressive. The coconut soup was good though. The restaurant itself charges a little bit too much for what you get. The service is slow but nice. I'll probably get my thai fixes from other restaurants in the area from now on.…
had better. pricey for thai food. portion is small. nice decor and all, but total experience does not provide good value for money. pad see ew (flat noodle w/beef) was good though. :)
Friendly, family-owned sidewalk gem delivers real Thai flavors amid the city's finest shopping and hotels..
The Scene
International tourists, business types and Thai-loving students break here from shopping on Newbury Street, networking at the nearby Hynes Convention Center or studying at the
nearby Boston Public Library. Tiny green lights hanging over tiled tables and floors, accentuating the small and somewhat trendy greenish-blue room. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out on a handful of sidewalk tables bathed in natural lighting.
The Food
Locals exalt the noodle and curry dishes especially. Flavorful drunken noodles (tofu, chicken or seafood over stir-fried rice noodles with chili peppers, bean sprouts and assorted vegetables and spices) are more than most can finish in one sitting. Although the menu describes itself as "Exotic Thai Cuisine," nothing here is particularly exotic. However, the restaurant offers a separate menu for its Thai customers, including several items not featured on the American menu, with extra herbs and spices more palatable to tongues accustomed to traditional Thai flavorings.…
authentic flavors, right price.
I have been to Bangkok Blue a few times, as it is convenient to my work place. The service is fast, flavors far more authentic than other Thai places I have tried (innumerable), and they don't use
MSG (I asked!). Considering the Copley location, the prices are very reasonable.
The best part is that they have a menu for the American palate and a menu for the Thai palate. If you want to try dishes not available in most Thai restaurants, just ask to look at the Thai menu, it has English translations. My favorite is the fried cat fish salad.…
feel blue. I went there twice times with my friends and felt so disappointed. The food is unreasonable price and the taste made me feel blue.My friend told me that this restaurant put a lot of MSG in any dishes.I decided not to come back here again and I will go to the better choice of bangkok blue.…
