“But of course the best part was the wonderfully fun sidewalk dining on Newbury St. itself.”
“However, this was all overshadowed by the warm caramel apple bread pudding dessert served with ice cream ( we had another dessert it was blueberry peach something).”
“The wine was good (Malbec) and reasonable at $”
“We finally settled on the calamari ($15) which was tasty, but heavy with breading, somewhat over-fried and accompanied by a boring marinara sauce.”
“We were served a huge bread basket with a variety of breads including scones, raisin bread, crackers and more, I've never seen anything quite like this.”
“It's a great restaurant because the.”
“Several people complained and were told that the air conditioning was on full blast.”
“With a bland menu and mediocre tasting food, as well as less than terrific service, this restaurant is not worth the money or the time.”
“Group consensus: the worst meal we have had in a long time.”View Less
$105.00 for a small cup of soup a salad and a grilled cheese. a very small grilled cheese sandwich a small cup of soup and a good sized salad $105.00? sure we had 3 drinks but please $105.00!!! and $32.00 for parking? and a 50 min wait!!!!!
I don't get Stephanie's. I'll give Stephanie's 5 stars for location, but that's about it. Last time I went my seared tuna salad was soggy, the tuna was smelly, and the "sangria" (if you could call it that) was horrible smelling. I know it's a great place to be seen, but wow, for those prices I'd expect a little more than outside seating.…
BEST MEATLOAF EVER!!!!!!!!. We went there Fourth of July weekend and my husband had the meatloaf (I ate half of it) AWESOME!!! I had the Grilled chicken Caesar salad, ehh...... So we went back and both had the Meatloaf, so good!!! It is so moist, delicious and had cheese in it. OMG, the best meatloaf I ever had. The only thing was, the second time we went there, the girl didn't bring out the bread basket. I then asked a server and he just forgot. I asked for it again thru the girl and she brought it out after we ate. It was ok! but she also forgot to bring it to the table next to us. My husband commented that you always get better service inside rather than outside. We did get better servie the first time (inside). I don't know, but the meatloaf is awesome and can't wait to go there the next time I'm in Boston.…
Smells from cooking vents make me nauseous. Everyone seems to know Stephanie's. I used to live close to it so I used it as a landmark when telling people where I lived. If you're looking for an over-priced drink with a view, this is the place (Joe's across the street is the same). Don't get me wrong, you'll have a great view and probably a nice time. If you're looking for dinner, however, I suggest going elsewhere. The menu options are uninspiring and the food itself is bland. The last time I went, I ordered the cuban sandwich. Honestly, of the cuban sandwiches I've tasted from 3 different restaurants in the area (including Dana's Cafe in Woburn, MA and another little place in Pemberton Square), this sandwich was the worst and cost two times more than the others. When I lived in the area, the food vents blasted disgusting smells all over the neighborhood. It made me nauseous and was a huge reason why I left. Stephanie's is just a restaurant with a lot of hype but no real bite.…
great ppl watching summertime patio.
Stephanies is somewhere you just have to go, theres no getting around it at all, you have to experience it. The patio seating is one of the best spots on a sunny afternoon and inside it has the big
booths that are reminiscent of days passed and the feel of fanciness.
They have a killer walnut salad that is to die for and everyone orders in. This is the type of place where I brought my high school student for her graduation because it seems perfect for a special occasion. The staff are also very attentive, which is something I always pick up…
