Follow-up to E.Grady ruined my face for my wedding!. It has been 4 months since I went to E.Grady for a treatment before my wedding. The scars are still there, and to make matters worse, I think the microdermabrasions ruined my skin permanently. I am now VERY acne prone (I used to get maybe 1 pimple every two months before, now I get one every day). My face looks horrible. I am a new bride and I look worse than I did before the wedding. I can't seem to stop breaking out and I don't know what to use anymore. Plus my scars are now a different color from before the micros - they are now black, before they were just red so I can't cover them up properly. I never had to use products like concealer before. Beware of this salon, or be sure you do your own research before going in, because they really don't know what's good for your skin...

Relaxing. This place was great. Staff was very friendly and I hardly had to wait at all in the waiting area. I got a facial. Rachel was very knowledgable about what would be best for my skin. She was very nice, and talked me through the different products she was using on my face, for my own future reference. I bought a few products that I just started using. They smell and feel very light and fresh. Especially the moisturizer. I would reccommend this salon to a friend. The whole experience was very relaxing, and I didn't feel as if they were pushing products on me. $70 for a facial is very reasonable, especially on Newbury Street. Will definitely be returning!

Love my brows, love my skin, LOVE the products!. I've been getting all my services done here for just over 3 years and have always been really happy with all the staff members. From the receptionists to the manager to the many estheticians, everyone has great customer service and skill. I go here for every spa thing I could possibly want, but I'd say I probably keep up with brows the most. Adriana usually does my brows and they always come out perfect every time! Advice for future waxing clients: Be specific about what you want to see. "Clean it up a little" is no more specific than asking a hairdresser to "cut it a little." If you leave it up to the esthetician, she'll choose to do what she thinks is best for you, which might not be what you think is best for you! Whenever I've had any issue (rare), the ladies have no problem making it right for me.

My favorite facial is the Tropical facial. I've had all their enzyme peels before, but the tropical has the best smell. Afterward, my skin is not red at all...it's just soft and hydrated. Even my husband notices when I've gotten a facial (and not just by the credit card statement!).

Also, for new clients: This salon only carries just their own products. Sometimes I wish they had different lines to choose from or new products more often, but I'm always happy with my results. If it ain't broke, don't fix it right? I love love love the Microcare red serum, spf 30 moisturizer, and face scrub. The scrub smells so good! I also swear by their Clear Up pads to exfoliate the bikini line. I never knew how to get rid of ingrowns until I started waxing here. I also don't go a day without wearing their mineral foundation. Best. coverage. ever. It's like putting an invisible cloak over breakouts. Amazing stuff.

So, overall, I can't say enough great things about this place. Clearly, I love them. I recommend the salon to all my friends and bring family in whenever I can. And the prices are affordable, so I never feel awkward sending someone here.

Avoid this salon!. Never will return to Elizabeth Grady salons for services. Went in for an eyebrow wax to have stray hairs removed, told the girl just to "clean it up a little" and left the salon with no eyebrows left. Will spend the next two months penciling in my eyebrows. This is not the results I would expect from a so-called "professional" salon.

Refreshing/Rejuvenating. Elizabeth Grady is an excellent skin care salon. I had the most relaxing and soothing facial here. By the end of my appointment I felt totally rejuvenated and refreshed. I really, really like this salon. I would recommend making an appointment here. Unbeatable service and location.

Overall, good. Over the past few years, I've had both massages and bikini waxes here. The massages were very relaxing. All the staff are very professional and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. However, the Elizabeth Grady style of waxing isn't the best. This was the least painful bikini wax I've ever had, but it was not at all clean and started growing in within a week. I've had others that take a full three weeks to regrow. I would evaluate whether you would trade a little more sting for a cleaner, longer-lasting wax before booking here.

A Little of Everything. This is a great salon, one of the best in the chain. Friendly staff, loved my massage with Joanne and facial with Theresa. They made me feel very comfortable and I felt great when I left. The prices are competitive on the block, one of my favorites in this part of Boston.

Service with a smile!. I loved the facial experience here. The atmosphere

was relaxing and the esthetician was engaging.

She gave me some good tips on how to keep my skin healthy and suggested products. I will definitely

go back!

not sure about this one. The staff seems pretty unknowledgeable about different skin types and how to treat problem skin. I had an upperlip wax, and left with a red lip...and all the hair still left. I have had my lip waxed at various salons, and have never endured this much pain for that little a result.
