“Plus, my dessert was terrible.”
“The wine that the Assistant Manager helped us pair with our entrees was perfect too!”
“The creamed spinach was the best in the city and the mashed potatoes were extra creamy.”
“Why (besides the expense account friendly menu) else is this one the most popular eateries for business travelers?”
“Most people go to restaurants pay a little more than half of what Morton's would cost and come away unsatisfied; for a few dollars more you can have one great nite of dining experience and not feel the need to go to another restaurant for a few weeks.”
“will definitely be back to celebrate another special occassion.”
“Very nicely presented, nice atmosphere, pleasant staff.”
“Capital Grille, Grille 23 and Abe & Louie's are much better alternatives for a pricey steak meal.”View Less
WOW What a Meal!!!. Last night was my Husband and my son's birthday so we took the family for a great dinner! I have to tell you that from the time I called to make my reservations to the very last second of us walking out the door EVERYTHING was truly wonderful. The restaurant was beautiful, The hostess was like an old friend so happy to see us and the wait staff was never ending... Just to start us off they gave us personal menu's that read along the top a special happy birthday to my husband and son with their names on them. There was 10 of us and it seemed as if we never wanted for a thing.. The second we though of something we wanted it was as if they read our minds and were handing it to us before we could ask. We started with a ton of app's. The Shrimp cocktail were huge, the crab cake was to die for literally, the bacon and scallops were perfect and most everyone loved the oyster Rockefeller ( I really rather mine cooked a little more with a little crisp to the top) And can I just mention that the bread ball they give you is something I'll crave everyday!!! The salads were enough for 2 people and every kind you could want. Most of us got the double Filet mignon (which was a bit expensive) cooked all different ways and all of them were PERFECT... hardly a stitch of fat... all Oh.. So... good... melt in your mouth beef! The potato's were about the size of a football and done perfectly, and the sides were too... We finished off with a ton of deserts... I never order any but couldn't help myself from reaching across the table to try everyone else's... mmmm Lava cake & berries with whipped cream.... I think it's only right that when you eat like that you should be able to go back the next night for seconds free!!! LOL All in All It was a pretty amazing night, The bill was a little over 1000. before the tip which they DIDN"T add in (which I really liked because I don't want anyone telling me how much to tip) so it was a bit more than I expected to pay but a ton more than I expected in the experiance... I may not go there with that many people again but I will definitally be going there again, alot!!! BRAVO…
Wonderful. I may be biased because I did eat at Morton's on a gift certificate so it really wasn't a risk to go there. We had a group of 8 and each of us order entree's, sides, drinks, and desserts. Now, I am realistic. I expect that at most restaurants you might get 2 out of 4 things to be good. All of us enjoyed everything we ordered. We had everything from steak to chicken to fish - all prepared to order. The sides were tasty and well done. Even the desserts, the godiva thing mmm mmm mmm.…
Morton's handsome lounge serves affordable eats and designer drinks in suitably stylish environs.. This subterranean lounge allows the after-work crowd to enjoy Morton's big-ticket approach to drinking and dining at a fraction of the cost of a full dinner in the dining room down the hall. Sports fans follow all the action on the plasma TVs that dot the room. Hungry patrons wash down French martinis with upscale snacks like mini filet mignon sandwiches, tuna tartare and jumbo shrimp cocktail.…
USDA prime beef, elegant tableside service and mammoth martinis..
In Short
With its dark wood details, celebrity photos and tuxedo-clad waiters, this upscale steakhouse chain has the air of a posh men's club. Service is professional and discreet, with
bartenders making a mean martini. Dinners begin with a waiter-driven cart laden with fresh vegetables, live lobster and cuts of steak; customers choose from porterhouse, rib-eye, bone-in prime rib and more. Side dishes are traditional and enormous, from baked potatoes and creamed spinach to steamed broccoli with hollandaise.…
From a true carnivore: Morton's is very much over-rated.
My best friend took me here for my birthday. What a disappointment. I've heard so many raves about this place but it was definitely nothing special and so very much over-rated and over-priced. The
steak was decent but not really any better than what I can get for half the price at other places. The giant-sized onion roll that came with the table was awful. Dry and very messy with pats of rock-hard cold butter on the side. How am I supposed to spread that? Bread is not expensive to make and should be a delight to go with yor meal. This bread was anything but. Plus, my dessert was terrible. I don't remember what it was called, but it was some chilled chocolate-type cake. Couldn't hardly taste the chocolate for the overwhelming flavor of the alcohol this thing had been drowned in when it was being made. The waitress seemed very disinterested in actually doing her job. And the atmosphere is just sad. I know what it was SUPPOSED to be, but it falls far short. There are places you can go that will make you feel much more special.
For the good, however, I did adore the steak fries and the shrimp cocktail appetizer I got. My friend's baked shrimp appetizer was also very good, as was his warm chocolate cake dessert. That's about all the good I can say about Morton's. I wish we hadn't wasted so much money for what we got. I hope you don't either if you're reading this. For what this place costs, it should be out of this world. It wasn't. Try a different place for steak. I know I'm going to. Good luck!…
