Tips for G2o Spa And Salon

Never Again. I was referred to Darren at G20 on Newbury by two friends who have great hair, so after commuting to Manhattan every time I wanted a cut, I bit the bullet and tried a new place. While I must say that my highlights are great - really natural and exactly what I wanted - I will NEVER let him come near me with scissors again. My hair looked great in the chair, but as soon as I left and started to play with it, everything changed. I tried to live with it for a week, but ended up going down the street to a much better (and cheaper) salon in Somerville to get it fixed. The new stylist didn't believe me when I told her I had just gotten a cut - my ends were a mess, the shape was all wonky and the layers were all uneven. Speaking of layers, he gave me some thick, choppy super-short layers that give me a judy jetson style bubble head (with some random long pieces underneath) which unfortunately can only be fixed by time. Plus, he had left a hole on one side of my face and a 2-inch wide chunk in the back that was longer than everything else. Not cute.

All in all, Darren is a fraud. Go there only if you want to leave with a weird, unfixable shape looking like you haven't gotten a cut in months. If I only I could get my money back...

Great!. Darren will give you the best hair-cut! It's very expensive, but worth every penny! Very good massages as well.

Impressed in more ways than one!. I am pretty new to the whole "spa experience". A good friend recommended, G2O and I thought "why not?". My first time and I went all out with massage, mani/pedi, hair and a facial. They even served me a GREAT lunch! The experience was amazing! I am totally hooked and I will have to do it all again! The staff in general were very caring and thoughful at all turns... but the thing that I have to say impressed me the most was when I was checking out, the woman before me was throwing a fit. The poor man behind the desk stood there, taking a verbal beating from this woman... and I am not too sure exactly what happened but you could just tell she was being unreasonable. He remained polite and was attempting to calm her in every way. I thought he had amazing customer service skills and when she was done blowing up, he checked me out as up beat and cooly as if nothing had happened. This is a great skill and more people like him in general would be a vast improvement in the world. I will with out question be going back!

best massage ever!. I had one of the best experiences of my life at this place. I have been getting regular massages for the last 8-9 years, and this massage was BY FAR the best ever. The massuse was a very, small and attractive girl (not like that should matter), with surprisingly strong hands for a girl her size. She was very caring and intuitive, also very funny- strange sense of humour, which I enjoyed. I left with no knots or tension, just a great feeling of peace with the world. Very powerful.

Confused.... I'm confused as to what other users are saying when reviewing this spa and salon. I have been a regular for years, and have never received less than superb services. Everyone I have encountered, managers, front desk and technicians, have been extremely friendly and helpful. I'm a regular salon client, come in at least 4 times a year, and also treat myself to the Suddenly Slim body treatments every once in a while. Whenever I leave I feel like a princess. I really disagree to what the other users are saying. I have never received anything less than excellent service here.

Delays, delays, delays. Over the course of going there several times a month for a two-year period, I also experienced some of the rudest staff in the world. You'd step in expecting to be pampered and it sometimes took up to 45 minutes to even be acknowledged by the staff. Occasionally, I'd call on the phone and ask for my hairdresser just to assure her I had been sitting there. Of course, the one time I got caught in traffic and arrived 20 minutes late (despite the fact I called in advace to give them a head's up) I was chastised severely. After two bad hair experiences, I have up and never went back. And, no one ever called to see what had become of me.

The worst people ever DO NOT GO HERE!. These are without a doubt the worse people ive ever had to deal with within any organization ever. The manageress is without a doubt the most ignorant person working today. She should not be holding a position that requires her to deal with the public as she is far too rude. Even when you do go, it's expensive and the service is bad, very below par. Do not under any circumstances give these people your money. If you own this spa and you are reading this, be known ive never had to write a review or to complain about anything in my life before, that is how put out I am about your establishment especially your manageress, who needs some serious help.

Best manicure / pedicure I've ever had!. My wife dediced that the best way for us to bond is to have a pedicure together. I was NOT happy about this but for the sake of my marriage, I agreed. I've got to admit that it was once of the most relaxing experiences I've had in a long while. A friendly man by the name of Van greeted me, assured me that lots of guys do this (LOL! I must have had that look across my face!). I'll do it again just for that amazing foot massage he gave me. I've got to admit, I didn't realize making my wife happy could feel so good!

Bad service, bad technique. I arrived 5 minutes early for my eyebrow wax appt. I continued to wait for another 25 minutes and no apologies.

I was glad the estecian asked me how i wanted my eyebrows. I was very specific and provided a lot of detail. after she was done, i very disappointed. not only did she take forever to do my eyebrows--the whole time i'm wondering why she was being so slow--she was actually thinning them out, even though i said i would like to keep as much thickness as possible. they were also uneven, and have empty patches.

i've never had a worse eyebrow wax. won't be coming here again for anything.

Best Haircut Ever!!!!. I recently went to G2O for a cut and a color. The stylist (Justine) was amazing with the color and, on the first try, gave me the deep cocoa that I have always wanted and somehow never recieved. The haircut was perfect. Originally I had a different idea of what I wanted, but she explained my face shape, etc... and her reccomended cut was PERFECT! This place is amazing!
