What People Are Saying About Steve's Greek Cuisine

In Short – With its lengthy menu of gyro sandwiches, chicken kabob dinners and burger subs, Steve's provides weary tourists and area college students with a notably budget-friendly option. Local workers take spinach pies and Greek salads to go, and dinnertime patrons vie for one of the window tables for some serious people watching. There's little atmosphere to speak of, and service is of the low-key variety, but most patrons don't seem to mind, given the value-for-money factor.
Best Restaurant in Boston!

I am a regular customer of Steve's - It is a warm, welcoming environment with a staff that takes great care of their customers. It is one big happy family, which makes the dining experience that much more enjoyable. The food is delicious, the service well-delivered, and overall experience a great one. I highly recommend Steve's to those looking for a great restaurant (not to mention, located on Newbury Street itself) - it is a "must-eat" site in Boston!
- Pros: Warm friendly staff, Delicious Food, Excellent service
Yummy Food here!

Steve's is a very unique little find on Newbury Street, my mom and I go there every other week because we love it so much! I absolutely ADORE the steak sub on the homemade pita--the pita is positively the most amazing bread, its very soft, yet sometimes crispy on the edges, and the steak is cooked to perfection--its like the perfect philly steak sandwich filled with crisp shaved steak, but with a great greek twist! so much more interesting than a boring old hoagie! Adding onions, peppers and mushrooms is always a must for me! (i find adding cheese takes away from it, but its an option) They also make great chicken kebabs, vegetable platters, and my mom claims the greek salad (with an addition of grilled chicken) is superb! its a very cute little atmosphere--can sometimes seem cramped, but the wait staff is very nice and the food is always wonderful, its also a nice dinner option if one is walking on newbury street at night or for getting a quick bite to-go. This restaurant is just so great because it mixes familiar american items with authentic greek cuisine so people who are into classic and more adventurous foods can enjoy it, and best of all, enjoy everything done well!
- Pros: Great food, great staff, great service
- Cons: sometimes cramped for space
Nothing Greek about this place

I'm not sure how the rest of the people gave this place 5 stars. I am visiting Boston and since I am so far from home, I wanted to celebrate the Greek Orthodox Easter the right way, thus the decision to eat greek food.
I was so upset when the food arrived. The salad was anything but Greek, the dressing was sweet and there were shredded carrots in the salad, which is a no no for a "real" greek. The chicken had some weird spice in it and the rice pilaf looked like something you would get from a Indian restaurant.
The pita bread was hard and cold, the lemonade tasteless.
If that was not bad enough, the chicken, rice, and salad were all served on the same plate. For the money you have to pay the least they could do is use more than one plate per dish.
I would never in a million years recommend this place not even to my enemies; would not go back there even if the food was free.
If you're ever in Los Angeles, CA, go to Opa to experience the real Greek tradition.
- Cons: The food is not Greek therefore they should change the name of the place to something more American.
