Not as bad as expected after reading reviews. Ordered chicken noodles and chicken fried rice..it was good enough. I like spicy and hot food. This food served the purpose..

They usually don't use MSG when I ask - not this time. I get takeout from this place a lot since it's near where I work. I've eaten there for over two years. The food is quite good and it's a good option in the neighbourhood, where I also live.

Usually I tell them I'm allergic to MSG and they make the food without it. Not this evening. There was a guy working instead of the woman who is usually there. There was definitely MSG in the food even though they told me that there would not be. (The guys working there gave me some sort of weird attitude, too). I am SO SICK right now. I won't be ordering from them again, and neither will my friends.

We call you 3 times!. Um, I didn't realize when I ordered some take out chinese that I had to answer the phone and go pick it up curbside when the delivery driver came. I called, ordered my food and was told by a rude lady that my food would be there in "half hour"... So I wait and wait and wait and finally 50 minutes goes by and I decide to call. The rude lady answers the phone and says "we call you 3 times, but you no come out!" My phone was on silent (my fault) but I expected them to knock on my door not call my phone. So, I didn't answer my phone and the delivery driver decided to just go back to the resturaunt, god forbid he knock on the door. After I called 50 min after I ordered, the man finally came to my door wanted to argue with me about how he called my phone, had a shitty attitude and when I gave him my $40.00 to pay for the $32.00 worth of food he proceeded to walk out the door and not ask me if I wanted my change! I got my change back and didn't tip him. Call me a jerk if you want but the food sucked, the delivery guy was lazy and trying to scam a tip instead of giving me the change to give him a tip and it took way too long to get the food. File this under: NO love you long time...

Eh. The food is definitely below average, however if you're a college kid, it's probably the best you're going to get. It's really easy to get to and it's open until 2:30am, which is GREAT when you're drunk and looking for food. This is one of the only places open so late. Fried rice isn't very good. Dumplings are very very very good :). It's pretty quick. Probably 5-10 minutes. Pretty cheap too. You'll find lots of drunk people in there late at night, though, as expected. It's basically the same as Chinatown No. 1 or any other fast food Chinese place around. Except here you can dine-in and pick up or get a delivery, whereas with Chinatown No. 1 they only deliver.

Best General Gau's Chicken and Crab Rangoon!. In my opinion, this place has some of the best Chinese Food in all of the greater Boston area. I have been to numerous Asian Restaurants, but some of the Items here, especially the General Gau's chicken and the crab rangoons are by far the best I have ever had! Yes, the place is kinda filthy and the service can be pretty bad. The people running the place can also be very rude at times. This does not surprise me because they have to deal with drunk and abusive customers all the time. Overall, I would say this place is worth gping for just for its food, if not for anyhting else...

nasty food at high prices. I got the beef and broccoli. It was probably the worst I've ever had. Not only was the beef extremely tough and chewy and the huge hunks of broccoli stringy and impossible to eat, but everything had a nasty taste, including the rice it came with and the sauce. All this for $8. Find another chinese place, or walk up the street to Wendy's or something.

i love nan ling. i moved to new york, and everytime i come back to visit, i always go to nan ling. i really do love it. the general gau's chicken is the best on earth- nothing like at other places. i talk about nan ling all the time- people always make fun of me for it. i can't help it, i'm obsessed. yeah, they an be kind of short when you're ordering, but they have to deal with A LOT of awful drunk people who treat them like crap. i'd be rude too.

(takeout/delivery only) Mixed reviews. While some dishes are unbelievable (mainly general gao chicken), there are plenty of dishes that you should avoid. You could experiment with each dish to find out what you'd like best, but the prices for each dish is far too expensive to do so. Worst of all, the service is so rude. When calling in for delivery, they cannot wait to hang up!

If you found a great dish.. stick with it.. because other than the few great dishes, there aren't any reasons for you to put up with this place. Recommend: Tae Bo
