  4. live in cambridge and travel all the way to Mass Ave to enjoy India Samraat food.

  7. Good food
  8. There are some nice Indian restaurants in Boston, and while I don't mind spending money on good food this one isn't cheap (average plate is about $13 and includes no condiments; naan, by which I mean heated pita bread, is $2.95).
  9. love Indian food, having had difficulty in finding a good Indian restaurant in Boston, India Samraat sloved my problem when i discovered it 4 years back.

traditional all the way

by psaggi at Citysearch

Every thing served here is tradtional. Not a fusion. The breads are baked in tradtional clay oven. The rice is basmati indian rice. The curries are most flavorful.

  • Pros: the best chicken tikka masala

YUCK! Avoid this Indian!!

by fab786 at Citysearch

I never take the time to write reviews, but this place is absolutely the WORST Indian restaurant. AVOID IT! I ordered quite a few things and they not only tasted bad (stale/old) they made my roommate sick. After seeing hair I refused to eat any of it beyond my initial tasting, and was spared. My order consisted of naan, flat and soggy, chicken tandoori 4 pieces of chicken that (literally) tasted rubbery, and also a biryani with a nice piece of hair in it.

I was so shocked I called the restaurant. The phone was answered by a womyn, who then passed it to the "manager", who then passed it to "delivery man" - who has more of a say than the manager apparently. All in all, I was on the phone for about 15 minutes, explaining the situation to the three different people, at the end of which instead of apologizing or anything I was treat rudely and offered $3. (Note: the delivery fee is $3, food was about $33, and I tipped $5). I told them to keep the money--I couldn't get over how little regard they had for preserving customers. This must be one of those places that depends on Boston's constantly fresh student population. So don't be fooled! I really recommend for those who love food, or just want something decent for their money to avoid this place. There are some nice Indian restaurants in Boston, and while I don't mind spending money on good food this one isn't cheap (average plate is about $13 and includes no condiments; naan, by which I mean heated pita bread, is $2.95). Honestly, save your stomach and go else where! Absolutely NOT worth it. Yuck! :)

  • Cons: Bad food, hair in food, horrible service, this is your worst indian restaurant!
