Since 1981, we've been making our customers happy with our homemade ice cream and nonfat frozen yogurt. Even our bittersweet hot fudge and butterscotch are made from our unique scratch recipes. We also roast our own coffee at our original Jamaica Plain location (what we call the "Mother Ship;" it's where we make all our ice cream, too).

In all our shops, we provide friendly service and a unique environment. We have multiple locations throughout the Boston area. Our newest shops are in Davis Square, Somerville and on Mass Ave in Arlington. Visit our other locations in Jamaica Plain, Back Bay Boston, Brookline, Newton Centre and West Roxbury and experience for yourself why we are the best in Boston. In Short – A cow mural, mosaic counter and giant "whirling teacup" combine to yield a whimsical environment. The assortment of ice cream flavors is awe-inspiring--French vanilla-hazelnut, white coffee, maple butter-walnut (there are always a half-dozen soft and nonfat yogurts available as well). Choose from a smorgasbord of toppings, including peppermint patty sprinkles, fresh fruit and Oreo cookies.

Lossing the Flavor

I love JP Licks but every since they discontinued Cake Batter, I haven't been going as much. Their new flavor brownie batter is okay but i miss the CAKE!!! bring it back asap!

Best ice cream on Newbury St.!

Definitely the best bet for ice cream lovers if you're on Newbury St. Ben & Jerry's is fine, but if you're looking for really good homemade ice cream with a wide selection of the tastiest flavors you could image, don't hesitate on coming here! My personal favorite is a combination of kowlua and coconut, but my friends always seem to favor the cake batter. For this month they have a bunch of Opening Day/Red Sox inspired flavors. The "Green Monster Tea" is definitely the one I sooo want and intend to try next - it's green tea flavored and loaded with natural antioxidants, yuuum. For those who like cake batter but are on a real sweet tooth kick, I suggest trying the "Batter Up!" - cake batter ice cream, loaded up with brownie bits.

Location is great, as it's at the very end of Newbury St. (across from Uban Outfitters). You can get off at the Hynes Convention Center stop on the green line and pick some up, and then walk off the (well deserved) calories by shopping all the way down the rest of Newbury. Win-win, right?! :)

  • Pros: homemade, large servings, good location
  • Cons: kinda pricey, but certainly worth every penny/calorie :d
