Close to Fenway Park.
Although I have visited Boston several times, this was my first stay in the Back Bay area. This time I had tickets to see the Red Sox and this hotel is an easy walk, about 15 minutes, to Fenway Park. Our room was spacious and the view out the window was nice too. The only negative experience was at check-in. It appeared that perhaps the person at the check-in desk was in training, so I will not hold it against him. When we arrived at our room, our keys did not work. I called downstairs from the phone at the elevators and security quickly and professionally corrected the problem.
The hotel is also a very easy 3 block walk to Newbury Street. Overall, appears to be a perfect place to stay in the Back Bay area. Expect to pay around $30 for taxi from airport to hotel.
Civilized accommodations in a fantastic central location..
While the rooms are more than adequate, it's what's outside that makes this Hilton worth checking out: spectacular views of Boston and the Charles River from up to 26 stories above ground. The location couldn't be better, just a few strides away from tony Newbury Street shopping and close to Symphony Hall. Despite the activity outside, however, the lobby is quiet and relaxing, with soft couches and carpeting, and an espresso bar that adds a sophisticated touch.
All of the 385 guest rooms, suites and mini-suites feature TV/VCR, telephone with voice mail and data port, air-conditioning, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, morning newspaper delivery, individual coffeemaker, and mini-bar. Also on the premises are an indoor pool with sundeck, 24-hour fitness room, and a 24-hour business center with photocopy and fax machines, PCs, printers, office supplies and meeting rooms.
Superb Customer Service. My sister and I came down from So. NH to celebrate my birthday in the city. We were happily upgraded to a spacious room with a balcony offering an amazing view. All the staff, from the valet, bellhops and front desk, were all extremely helpful, friendly and seemed to sincerely care about the quality of our visit. I was wished a happy birthday from all staff even as we were checking out the next day. The food at Boodles was yummy also.
Hidden jewel in Back Bay. This hotel is a real hidden gem. Great location, but still quite and away fm traffic. The hotel has been completely redone from top to bottom. The rooms are huge, views of city great, staff warm and friendly. Best of all great rates, This place is a real winner!!
good deal in Boston.
Just returned from a stay in Boston. Hilton Back Bay very close to fenway and across the street from Hynes Conventer Center. $97.00 rate on Hotwire.com for a Sat. night!
Bonus was the Outdoor Sundeck off the indoor pool.
Great for kids.
Staff very accommodating
Pour House Restaurant around the corner on Boylston Street great breakfast spot...locals raved about it. CHEAP
I had a great experience at the randevous bar in the lounge.
I stayed there with my husband over the weekend. We didn't expect they had the bar.
before going to movie we stopped by and had drinks. the menue was so interesting. I had special drink 'Rose margarita" and my husband had "side car". They were both great. He asked us how we want them and he made us exactly the way we wanted them to be.
the bartender gat great hospitality, too. We will come back just for drinks.
14. I agree with the author above. There are other hotels very close to The Hilton which are a better value than The Hilton..Like The Midtown Hotel, which offers free parking. Nothing fancy just good price value.
Skip it. We go into town about once a month, to stay over, drink (of course) and check out the hotels. This one you can pass right by. Sub-par location, lousy valet, crummy lobby and terrible service all mean that this not a good place to stay.
