Editorial Review. Originally opened in 1824 as a free medical clinic, Beacon Hill B&B provides out-of-towners with 46 affordable rooms.

Very Affordable at the Best Location. This is the best place to stay as far as I know. I used to stay here whenever I came to Boston. Very cheap with decent service (don't expect frills). Just steps away from Red Line, which is very important for those doing business with Harvard or MIT. Access from Logan is also great because it stands just off a ramp from Strow Drive. Don't miss a morning stroll along Charles River if you stay here. In any case I don't think it's worth paying for the expensive rooms around Copley.

Beacon Hill value. Location, location, location! This hotel is right in the heart of Beacon Hill, steps from the red line and MassGeneral Hospital. It is located on a small side street right off the corner of Charles and Cambridge Streets and is very cheap compared to its peers in the area. The staff is very friendly - the service personal. The rooms are small, but nice. They validate parking at the nearby Charles Street garage. Only bummer was the included breakfast: plan on catching brunch at nerby Panificio if you like to start the day w/ a big meal!
