Best Froyos around – Podima offers the best froyos in the West End. With almost every add-in imaginable available. I always have a fruit / junk food combination and have never been disappointed. They also have really good protein shakes.
Stay away from the fries, they're gross. But their calzones and tomato, basil sandwiches are the best.
The staff can be a little dry but I've never had to wait long for my order.
Worst food and delivery service EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! And refusing to refund order – Both the food and the attitude of the staff members at this establishment are disgusting. I live just around the corner from this place, and had I known at the time I placed the order, what I know now, I would have NEVER ordered from this place to begin with. Nor will I ever recommend it to even my worst enemy. When I placed the order my response to the delivery time, rather than being 20min, 40min, etc. like normal places give you, I was told "we'll get it there as quick as possible." That should have been a red flag from the start. Knowing how close they are, I figured that wouldnt be to long. After waiting about 40min, I called to find out what was going on. I was told it was out with the driver and it should be there about 10-20min. When it still hadnt arrived, and had now been an hour since placing the order I called again, this time ready to just cancel our order. I was put on hold for 10min, told extremely rudely that it was with the driver, would be there as soon as possible, I wasnt the only person getting food delivered, and the more people call, the more it just delays the progress of other orders. Well excuse me! She clearly missed the memo about customer service and tact. I tried at that point to cancel my order and she refused to do so, said to wait for the delivery, if the food was cold she would refund me. Unbelievable! Another 1/2hr before it arrived, I was so incredibly irritated at this point I signed the slip (mistake #1), shut the door, & phoned back to demand a refund considering it took a total of 1 1/2 HOURS (to go 1/2 mile) to deliver our now COLD food, and she told me that she would. Well go figure, it has yet to be refunded, and when I called to follow up about this, the same witch of a woman answered, rudely argued w/me again, and refused to refund me. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this horrible place. I've never been treated like this by a food establishment and am completely shocked.
delivery = disappointment – All that can be said about this resturant is that the food has amazing potential to be good (if they get the order correctly and remember all of the ingredients)-- but the staff is as rude as could possibly be! And just a pointer- if you are ordering delivery you make sure to call in a full two hours before you would like to eat, because thats approximately how long it will take for you to receive your food. Have your oven set and microwave ready because you WILL need to it heat up. Also make sure you have a pair of sneakers on so that when they arrive an hour and half late you'll be prepared to run outside to get it because you have a better chance of your order being right than you do of them coming to the door!
2 hours late - refused to cancel order & insisting on charging my credit card – We've ordered from them in the past ----- okay, but certainly not great. On one night, we ordered- because they were close- and, after three calls to 'check on the status of our order', all of which were 'on their way', and 2 hours later, I called to cancel the order. The woman answering the phone refused to cancel the order, telling me some kind of garbled 'we told you the driver......'. I asked her not to charge my card - she said it was too late and to tell my driver the same, who obviously could not do a thing about the actul charge. I told her repeatedly not to charge my card. She hung up the phone on me. I will clearly contact my bank to refuse this charge. Don't make the same mistake. In the area, you have Pizzeta & Venice - all of which will give you the same food with much better customer service.
DO NOT EAT HERE! – I ordered from this restaurant the other night and was rewarded with a live critter in my pizza box. I'm still skeeved out by it. Save yourself the trouble and go to a reputable pizza place in the North End.
Great sandwiches, frozen yogurt – The hot sandwich selections are great, such as the hot turkey with carmelized onions, cheese, mesclun, and sun-dried tomatoes. The calozones are cheap and tasty as well, and the frozen yogurt is great, which seemingly hundreds of mix-ins available (probably it is actually around 30 or 40, but be prepared to be overwhelmed).
delicous! – The food at Podima is excellent. The sandwiches are unique, tasty, and reasonably priced, and the frozen yogurt is fantastic! (only comes in one size, though - be careful, or you'll eat a whole pint). The place is TINY, though, and gets really crowded at lunch time. Also, because all of the food is made fresh, it can take a while for your order to come. (Be esp. careful w/ calzones and pizza). definitely check it out - it's awesome.
