One of the North Station area's most popular sports bars offers satisfying bar food and plenty of plasma TVs. 617-963-0457

About The Fours

  • Best Sports Bar- Best Of Citysearch
  • More than 40 HD TVs
  • Across the street from the TD Bank Garden.

We've been serving Boston's athletes and fans since 1976, providing excellent food and service. Come by for our famous buffalo wings, Shrimp Diane, Boston baked beans or broiled scrod. Have a bite of our "Bobby Orr," the steak and cheese sandwich named for our hockey legend. Chase it all down with a beer and watch the game on more than 40 HD TVs. Or come by after the game--we're right across the street from the TD Bank Garden.

We have tons of sports memorabilia on our walls, including signed photographs, equipment and jerseys. Of course, no Boston sports bar would be compelte without signed Tom Brady, Larry Bird, Robert Parish and Doug Flutie gear. Come by and catch up with friends at The Fours.617-963-0457

Tips for The Fours

Best place to watch the bruins play or any sports game for that matter

Rude Rude Rude. I've always liked this bar. A TV at every possible location, good beer, decent bar food. But my last experience was so atrocious that I couldn't help but think something's wrong with management. We were a party of six with two yet to arrive. Even though the restaurant was practically empty, the host would only seat four. When our friends arrived, we were forced the move, the waiter literally sighed, actually asked our friend if all he's getting is a dessert, and stomped off like a school child. Our bill came with gratuity already tacked on at 20%. I'm never going there again.

Best Service, Best Chicken Wings, Hot Guys. This is an excellent bar to watch any sporting event. They have huge flat screen tvs. THE best chicken wings and nachos. The crowd is good. Everybody is pretty loud and into the game so it makes it alot more fun. Alot of hot guys.

Good food, good service, big flat screen TV's everywhere. Previous reviewer mentioned a lack of large screen TV's - well have no fear, because The Fours now has 42" flat screens everywhere, and a large (10 foot?) projection screen in a corner of the dining room. I was watching Monday Night Football to the left of me and a Red Sox game to the right, while our friendly waitress kept the beer glass full. Food was better than average for a sports bar.

The Doug Fluttie. Great sports bar and I strongly recommend trying the "Doug Fluttie" if you like buffalo chicken, also the nachos are a great choice for an appetizer!

One of the North Station area's most popular sports bars offers satisfying bar food and plenty of plasma TVs.. The Scene
The ye-olde-English-pub facade looks like it was assembled from a mail-order kit, but the bar inside is fine. Sports-lovers who covet memorabilia will appreciate Fours' decor: Photos of the late and great, along with jerseys and game shirts, cover the walls. Old-school pennants, signed baseballs, boxing gloves, ice skates and more have also worked their way into the scheme.

The Draw
Just a block from the Garden, it's a convenient place to grab food and drinks before the game. On tap: Budweiser, Bass, Harpoon, Guinness, Miller Lite and Sam Adams. For a sports bar, Fours' grub is above average. The shrimp Rafael appetizer is five jumbo shrimp lightly breaded and fried. Among the sandwiches, the Bobby Riggs turkey club and the Bobby Orr steak and cheese are standouts. (Yes, all sandwiches are named for sports legends.)

One of the better sports bars in the city.. "One of the better sports bars in the city. It can be dead, depending on if there's an event down the street at the Garden."

Best Bar in Boston. Every time I visit Boston I make it a point to visit the Fours. The atmosphere is terrific and the food is excellent. The location is top notch..just a block from the Garden.

When in town stay in the North End...go to a game...go to Quincy Markets....go to the Fours!!!! (All in walking distance)

Rude waitress, the Manager was worse. We went over to see the soccer world cup final at the fours. The waitress was incredibly rude and my wife and I felt totally uncomfortable sitting there. At one stage when we asked for the menu she decided she would prove a point and yelled out to the manager across the bar. As we left, we spoke to the manager about her and he was even ruder, starting with- "Why was she rude? Did you order water only?"....Totally not recommended, O'reilly's next door was a much better and nicer bar for sports lovers.

great place. Have been going to Fours since the 70's: called Number 4's then, far from yuppie, 1/4 its current size, notty pine paneling, one small bar with wooden stools named after each of the Bruins, sat with Cashman, Espo, Cheevers, Orr, etc. and actually had conversations with them. Some of the same people still work there. Kitchen was a grille at the window streetside, steak and cheese just as good now as then. Great food and atmosphere, reasonable prices for Boston. Non-alcohol you can get 2 meals for less than $40.00. Tons of Small TV's, no room for big ones (too much sports memorabilia on the walls). Plus Boston is the championship city right now, so SI was right naming it #1. Try it!
