The Scene
For a large-capacity bar, this place nevertheless manages an intimate feel. The decor makes you feel like you've walked into a neighborhood spot in County Clare, where its sister pub McGann's of Doolin is located. Antique lanterns, framed Celtic drawings, and Guinness ads line the walls. For even more intimacy, a cozy alcove with a working fireplace sits away from the door, strategically positioned to block winter drafts with a wall of body heat.
The Draw
This being around the corner from the FleetCenter, expect Celtics and Bruins fans to rampage the place before and after home games. Earlier in the evening and on nights when the FleetCenter is empty, McGann's draws a relatively sedate crowd of professionals who make this their local watering hole. But no matter who's there, the wide selection of draughts (29, all told) including British Isle exports Boddington's, Belhaven, and Tetley's, keeps everyone coming back.
