Order at the counter and the staff brings big, beautiful plates to your cafe table. This handsome Charles Street bakery's outstanding breads are the basis for light meals all day. Sandwiches (panini), soups and bruschetta are the main midday choices. The panini are dense with meat (try the grilled chicken with Roma tomatoes, romaine lettuce and lemon-pepper mayo on fresh focaccia). At night, hearty pasta and chicken dishes top the tables.

My husband and i used to visit several times a month for several years. Then last year we stopped going (for no good reason). Then last month, we visited (Sept 2008) and were disappointed. The food was OK but not worth the price, the menu has changed substantially, the service was HORRIBLE (not busy, yet it took forever to be helped, served), and our credit card was overcharged (which we only discovered AFTER our statement came...and trust us, we gave a respectable tip even though the service was not so). Clearly, we will not be returning.

The coffee tasted a bit watered down, but I have never had better sicilian pizza!!!!!! They make good pastries too. While the menu prices scare me a bit, its very possibly worth it.

My sister and I went out to this restaurant for lunch shortly after moving to Boston and finding it in my neighborhood. The location is great, on a very cute street with fantastic boutique shops, (they close early though!) The menu was pretty standard, tasty looking. We left satisfied, but a little disappointed with the slightly chewy, subpar focaccia bread. Overall, a nice experience for the everyday meal. Im sure we'll be back.
