“The wine was perfect.”
“Amazing food!”
“It's a no thrills type of menu but the food is fantastic!”
“romantic dinner place this is not, but if you're looking for great Italian food in a hurry, this is your place.”
“service was just as expected, food was quality and wonderful, at the best prices in Boston.”
“Good food for good prices!”
“Waited in line for 30 minutes on a Monday night, but the weather was great and there was nice people to talk to in line.”
Good value for authentic Italian food. I went here a few years ago, and remember being underwhelmed in comparison to how long I had to wait to get inside. The food was definitely good - not specifically memorable, although the gnocchi was fantastic. And for no more than $15 an entree, it's a good value for a nice, hearty Italian meal. However, the ambience failed to impress me - the tables were packed in too tight, and they weren't dressed up or anything.
ALL BLOW AND NO SHOW!!!!. I have heard alot of hype about this place since moving here. In the summer, there are always lines out the door so I waited until the winter to check it out. This place is all blow and no show!!! The "fresh pasta" is not so freash. I can make better at home! There are many other hidden places in the North End that are far superior that Giacomo's. I will not be going back. Dont waste your time!!! Leave it for the tourists!
Scrumptious. We first came August of 2007 -recommended by one of my co-workers. My husband and I loved it! The food, especially the seafood, is fresh and mouth watering. We came to Plymouth this past weekend (8/14/09) and had to drive here for dinner. We could not pass it up! As usual the Zuppa di pesce for two with the wine was out of this world! We'll be back!
Fast Service Sloppy Preperation. Went on a date here, not the best place to go for a date but thats ok. It smelled amazing inside but the food didn't match the smell. The calamari was chewy=overcooked. My ceasar salad was douced in dressing and my main course had a strange B.O like flavor it was a special and I thought it was going to be way better. I asked if the sauce was light or heavy and the waitress said it was light but it wasnt . Wasnt a fan. Some good things about the restaurant were that it was quick and the waitresses were not about BS and savoring the moment.
Test Review. I am just trying to see how to get my review on my wall in Facebook

Yummy Italian. I have only been to the location in the Southend and from what I hear it is the better of the two in regards to crowds. Excellent food, cheap prices. Wait Staff is extremely busy and would rather not chat during peak hours. I would highly reccomend.
This Place is Fun and and icon of Boston!.
How much fun was this? We waited in line for 1/2 hour, then all those ahead of us were taken in., We were then, the next in line for the second service. We waited 45 min. more making friends of others standing in line all anticipating what this Restaurant has to offer. This was the second trip to Boston my husband had made and when I came This was the only place he said we MUST go. We looked at menu outside and knew what we wanted as soon as our buns got the seat.....mouth watering the whole time.
When we finally ushered in our table was actually the end cap of the Bar. We had a ring side seat to the kitchen.. This place moves very quickly, our food was up and ready in a flash... it was also the biggest platter of pasta and Seafood with lobster I have ever seen. We were Not rushed to eat.. service was just as expected, food was quality and wonderful, at the best prices in Boston. Go have fun! its worth it.
Fight the hype.... Way too much hype over this little spot. First, the entire experience is rushed. You can hardly sit down before they're asking for your order. Good menu selection (they push their seafood). Food is fair; ceaser salad is pretty good. No dessert but shouldn't be a problem with Mike's Pastries down the street. Reasonably priced, but they only accept cash. Overall fight the hype.
BEST ITALIAN FOOD. The best Italian restaurant in the US! not just Boston.... the only place my family and I go when we make a trip to Boston. Well worth the wait.
