“It's a clean restaurant considering it's in Chinatown which I find most are quite dirty and had a nice atmosphere.”

“Although many of the restaurants in the area specialize in some dishes and can be a little up and down across the menu, New Jumbo has consistently some of the best food, across the board.”

“service is not bad, but the food makes up for it.”
Mediocre food; horrid dining experience. The food here was not at all authentic, more reminiscent of food court chinese than what one would expect from Chinatown. Even worse. the waitstaff rushes you through the meal and made it abundantly clear to my party that we were not welcome. When we confronted management, in a subsequent phone call, his response was that we had already paid and included a tip so there was nothing he could do, not even apologize. Absolutely terrible dining experience - go anywhere but here.
one of the best in chinatown. I work a couple of blocks from Chinatown, so I eat there a lot. Although many of the restaurants in the area specialize in some dishes and can be a little up and down across the menu, New Jumbo has consistently some of the best food, across the board. generous portions, freshly-cooked, minimal gooey mystery sauces.
Hong Kong fish house regains its winning form..
The Scene
After a brief turn in the spotlight, Jumbo has settled into a friendlier, more relaxed, more Chinatown kind of place.
The Food
Jumbo's back on top of its game, with perfect tender scallops, shrimp with crunch, conch with tooth, and flaky whole fish, breaded and fried Hunan style. This is very much a Hong Kong restaurant, complete with easily imported specialties such as sea cucumber, jellyfish and shark's fin soup. Calamari fanciers can expand their horizons with "double squid"--grilled strips and stir-fried tentacle tubes in a spicy, peppery sauce. To balance the fish, try shredded beef with preserved mustard green pickle. Eggplant in hot garlic sauce makes eating your veggies a pleasure.
Great food!. The crispy orange jumbo shrimp was the best Chinese dish I've ever tasted. We ordered three other items which were also good. It's a clean restaurant considering it's in Chinatown which I find most are quite dirty and had a nice atmosphere. The service was fine, better than the average Chinese restaurant but Chinese restaurants aren't known for their service, right? It's the food. I would highly recommend it and will definitely be back again and again. It's our new favorite restaurant in Chinatown.
GREAT RESTURANT. a fabulous resturant. great food, been there 10 times and gets better every time. service is not bad, but the food makes up for it. a great nook in china town, a must go to resturant.
