The Scene – White linen tablecloths and neat and attentive waitstaff signal the upscale breeding behind this fancier, more formal restaurant than most in Chinatown. It's a good place for a date or serious (but inexpensive) business entertaining. – – The Food – Chef C.K. Sau is versed in both Shanghai and Cantonese styles, creating bold meat plates and subtle seafood. Rich dishes with hot garlic sauce (shredded pork and chicken) or spicy orange sauce make for hearty winter dining. Sau is adept at using locally available materials--sea bass for a truly delectable Hunan…

This place is very good. The food is not greasy, and it always tastes fresh. The appetizers are delicious.
- Pros: food, value, nice decor
*** HORRIABLE EXPERIENCE ***
by ulovekathy
I was all excited to look for a nice restaurant for the coming CHINESE NEW YEAR!! I have family coming from overseas this year so I wanted to try out the food in the restaurant before taking them.
While I was ordering, I was told that the restaurant is changing style and couple of dishes that are on the menu might not be available. So I ordered what they said that was available. Eventually, one of the vegi dish came after I sat down for 30 minutes. then guess what I was half way through my dish and I was told they DON'T HAVE the rest of the order!!
I only had vegi after I sat down in the restaurant for 45 minutes. They gave me the menu that they don't do anymore for me to order!!
*** THIS IS THE MOST RIDICULOUS RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO ***
Worst service I have ever experienced

My 11 co-workers and I went to New Shanghai with a reservation for noon. We placed our Dim Sum order and by 1:30 the only thing we were served was a plate of friend rice. We finally walked out and to make matters worse, they refused to comp our "meal." Do yourself a favor -- visit one of the other eateries in Chinatown! This place is HORRIBLE.
