The bass in the fish tank and the sizable Asian clientele attest to the freshness and authenticity of Grand Chau Chow's cuisine. While college kids stick to familiar Chinese-American fare, foodies opt for authentic offerings like subgum melon soup, stewed abalone and beef with bitter melon. Szechuan-style kun pao dishes are not for the tepid of tongue. Harried servers don't offer much in terms of personality.

I've been going there ever since 1993. actually, i don't go there any more because i moved to San francisco. Chau Chow makes me want to move back to Boston sometimes. I've been searching hi&low for a place like this but there's no place like this...at least not in NY or SF. BEST Chinese Food is what you'll get at Chau Chow. I recommend spicy salted shrimp w/ no shell & peapod stem w garlic sauce!!

I would highly rated this place for their food. I tried almost everything but never taste as goog as this one. Starting from their Crab Ranggon all the way to Salted Spicy Squid, Pan Fried Noodle, Pan Fried Flounder Fish, and some Sizzling Beef are unbelievable. This place compares to the larger restaurant the Chau Chow City is so far away better, eventhough same owner. I would strongly suggest this restaurant.

I just recently moved to Boston from NYC and unfortuantely I have yet to find a good Chinese restaurant here. I opted to try GCC because it had a higher rating by both Citysearch and Zagat's. Although, I didn't order any seafood dishes (which seem to be there specialty) I found the chicken/pork dishes greasy and tasteless.
