Thug Central - DO NOT GO HERE!!.
If I could give this place 0 stars, I would.
Sure, they have cheap-ish beer and food, but is it worth feeling unsafe for that?? I recently found out that a female friend of mine was attacked in this place. By another patron? Nope. By the MALE bartender!! Unfortunately, it was the end of the night, so nobody was there to help. I won't go into too many details, as I don't want to make her a target, but I want to warn people about this place. There are PLENTY of Irish bars in the area, there is no need to patronize this place! They might have cheap beer, but is it worth it to leave with a bump on your head and then have to cancel your credit card over?? Probably not. I'd say there is a reason this place got it's last positive review almost 2 years ago!!!!
Best Dive Bar!.
Ok let's be serious. I have been reading all these reviews on this place and the only people who really get it are the people on Citysearch. All these losers on Yelp complaing about a dive bar. What do you really expect?! "Oh weh weh weh, the music is too loud, my drink is too small, its only 10 oz miller lite." Please, get with the program people.
Let's start with the basics. I really only order one thing here which is beer. They have $1 Miller Lite Drafts and now for Summer 2k10 they got $2 Bud Lite bottles. Um hello? They also have great steak tips, a great reuben and good fries. I mean what more could a guy possibly ask for. Oh wait, how about bags?
Bags, cornhole, whatever you call it. But every Sunday my buddies and I from the restaurant get together and head down to An Tains for some good ol' bags baby! Just yesterday they had a bags tournament sponsored by Naragansatt and the winner gets a case a month for a year. That rules!
So to all the haters out there, get a life or get a beer...or two... Now go back to your yuppie bars and dress codes because we don't want you!
Sunday Bloody Sunday.
No better way to kick start the work week by having 4-7 Bloody Marys, which is their signature drink, on Sunday morning, all before 11:30 AM.
Great atmosphere, tons of talent walking by outside, and a great place to take the kids after church.
See you there, GO SOX
The crowds may fluctuate like the stock market, but this Financial District destination remains a comfortable, laid-back Irish-themed hangout..
The Scene
This single-room bar and restaurant does its best business on weekdays just after people finish working in the nearby Financial District. Even though bustling Quincy Market (and its plethora of bars/clubs) is just a few blocks away, weekends here are particularly quiet. The action heats up on Thursday and Friday evenings when tables are pushed aside and a DJ spins contemporary dance tunes.
The Draw
Like most Irish-tinged bars in the area, patrons can choose from a decent selection of draught beers, as well as a fully stocked bar and a menu of standard bar foods (think burgers and nachos). Prices are reasonable across the board. Colorfully named house drinks include the "Green Cape Codder" (Smirnoff Sour Apple Twist and cranberry juice) and the "One Legged Duck" (Bacardi Limon, cranberry juice, and soda water).
can we talk about how hot julia is.... love an tain... you should go there... the bartenders rock... get the steak tips and a pitcher... you will be satisfied... the noonas are nice too
One Stop Shopping. Where do I begin...great tasting food, a plethora of adult beverages, staff cannot be beat, and the entertainment at night is so much fun. Friday & Saturday nights, they have DJ's Dave Natola and Sean OToole, etal. They play the BEST dance music - everything you asked them. From - lost 45's, old skool, & todays biggest dance charts, etc. Family owned, there's never a problem in there. Which if you've been in Faneuil Hall clubs, is a rarity. Everybody knows everybody. The bartenders are lightning quick & knowledgeable. Let's talk about the, girls & the guys, on the dance floor, or just sitting at the bar. There are plenty to choose from, and also a great date place too, you don't even need to dress up that much ( smart casual works ). I will make this place a destination spot going forward. I even asked to have an event there, they'll accomodate that too. Obviously I recommend this place to anyone...easy to get to as well.
Sat Nights. DJ Steve, what a good time, kept everyone out on the dance floor.. Lots of great looking women go to see this guy spin.. Check it out
Best Afterwork Bar. Great group of people at this place, the staff, & customers are very friendly people. I am new to the downtown area and this place is so much better than the rest of the neighborhood.
Good Hangout. Went in on Wednesday night, they have the Hockey Package.. Very good food, 10 beers on Tap. Staff helped me find my way around town (New to Boston)
Best Afterwork Bar. 1/2 price appetizers, great music, & very stiff drinks... Yep that about sums it up
