“Our waitress was always trying to sell something, the appetizers, lobster, dessert, etc. which is kind of annoying when you are trying to enjoy dinner.”

“but my husband's food was horrible.”
“not too many items to make the menu overwhelming.”
“This is my favorite restaurant!”
“will never come back and you lost a very big customer.”
“The girls on the table next to us ordered the same thing and I even made a comment to my husband that I was glad that the desert was to go because the slice served was huge but, when I got to the car (the valet parking service is really good!)”
“have to agree with some people that the service can use a little work considering the place is pretty expensive.”
Worst Restaurant ever.. I have never been been somewhere so terrible. I have been to many fine dining restaurants and I must say, I've had better service at mcdonalds. The management were awful. They never even came by to aknowledge that the food took almost an hour until I demanded to see a manager. The food was not very good and you could tell it was sitting in the window for a while. I felt so bad for the poor waitress as I watched her run around and ask the manager to come over and I saw him brush her off!! I will never come back and you lost a very big customer.
Great Seafood, Great Atmosphere. I came here with some friends. The location is perfect! We were in Boston doing all of the fun touristy stuff and stopped in for some lunch. I had the clam chowder and the lobster roll. They were both AMAZING! The lobster roll was the best that I have had since I moved to Boston. We sat on the patio and it was gorgeous. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
An awesome expierence!.
Last Saturday I chose a Chart House restaurant for a late dinner with my friends. And it was a right place to go. We all had a wonderful time!
I was at this restaurant before about 6 months ago and was very satisfied with the service, food and overall expierence.
This time I noticed a couple of new dishes in the menu that I tried. The "Calamari and Friends" for an appetizer and a "Seared Mahi Mahi with risotto" for a mane meal. I have to say that was outstanding!
The chef visited our table to find out if we were satisfied with the food. Our server did a good job too!
Everything went so smooth, so we all decided to meet at Chart House again in a month:)
great food and service wow. The food at this place is the best food in boston prime rib just fell apart in my mouth so tender and for the chowder I tried all over boston this place has the best and for the service I eat out all the time and they by far have the top servers in boston. I dont wait tables any more but if I was to every do it again this would be the place.
DO NOT PLAN EVENTS HERE Worst experience. Had our rehearsal dinner here. They never mentioned it was not handicap accesible so two of our guest had to sit alone downstairs in bar area and had to WAIT an hour to even do that just to have a tray of food dropped on them. No consideration was given to them or us for the issue. We arrived 15 min. early and had a table of two eating right in the middle of our area.... if our area was not ready they had no business seating us. It has been 30 days and I am fighting with their corporate office in Houston to get my deposit back. I called on 5 separate occasions being promised it was being taken care of and here I am still waiting. I am on hold for 22 minutes so far with corporate trying to remedy the situation. The manager and event coordinator in Boston admit the deposit is due but for some asinine reason ALL credit have to go through their corporate accounting office. I was given 3 phone numbers to track my credit down because the first 2 did not work. Why in the heck do I need to do all this leg work because I had the worst experience for my rehearsal dinner? This place is nothing more than a big corporate chain and part of Landry's... had I known I would have stayed with something local like we originally discussed.
Really Disappointed!. I was really disappointed w/ the service and the food. It was my husband's B-day and we went to the Chart House for the first time. The waiter didn't give us much attention thought out the whole dinner. He brought us water (the glasses were all dirty!) and bread almost 15 minutes after we arrived. He seemed to me in such a hurry to get our order that he was almost rude. I didn't really understand his hurry as it was tuesday night and the restaurant was not busy at all. I've ordered a margarita as I don't drink wine and it was horrible and even though I told him that and ordered a soda instead he still charged us for it. I ordered from the Restaurant Week Menu and my husband ordered the sword fish from their regular menu. My food was ok (had better elsewhere!) but my husband's food was horrible. The rice was dry and the fish had no flavor at all! The worst that he ever had specially when you take in consideration that he was a cook! One of the guests seated next to us had to re-order the food as it was way overcooked. When the replacement order came in she said that it was good while the manager and the head chef were at her table but as soon as they turned around she said that it was worse than the first one and her friend suggested that she should not waste the food and take it home for her dog!!! The only good thing was the asparagus which I heard good comments from the next table as well. For desert, I've ordered the key lime pie to go. The girls on the table next to us ordered the same thing and I even made a comment to my husband that I was glad that the desert was to go because the slice served was huge but, when I got to the car (the valet parking service is really good!) I've realized that the box was too light so I've checked the order and they gave me 2 little lemon tarts that were not even close to whatever the girls next to us got. I almost went back to make a formal complaint but my husband just told me not to as that was our first and last time there. I apologized to my husband as I wanted something special for his B-day and told him that I was really sorry for the whole experience there. It was awful and I wouldn't recommend this place for my worse enemy! Even the chowder that they say it's the best in town was bad. I had better at Outback and even 99 Restaurant. The price is really expensive for the food and treatment that you get. They shouldn't call it "high end" at all.
Did not rate a good tip. We visit Boston frequently throughout the year and the Chart House has always been tops with us.Not so any more! Our last visit on June 4,2008 proved disastrous .The service was very poor and when the main course was served the waiter asked if we needed anything else.Yes, I replied I would like to have some more rolls. He hesitated for a moment and then said ,Rolls? Why do you want more rolls? You have one roll left in the basket !I I replied that one of the two guests with me would enjoy having the white roll, could he please bring another basket for the rest of us? Well I guess you mean that you like the dark rolls? okay then I will bring a dark roll for you. I actually thought that an additional basket of rolls would have been nice for all at the table. The waiter passed by my table at least five times and never brought the rolls .Likewise when it came time for the bill we each needed a separate check because we were travelling on business. He never acknowledged the missing rolls.and succeeded in mixing up the bills for two of us. We handled the mixup amongst ourselves because we could not wait to get out of the place.I spoke with the manager and told him these types of irritations are what cause people not to come back . I have dined in many restaurants over the years and have never been denied an extra piece of bread or a roll.or even a full basket for that matter! What a cheap establishment! What ignorant employees!
Customer Service is horrible.
My husband and I have eaten here numerous times and most likely will never return.
My husband and I went to the Chart House last night for dinner and it started out perfect, we had the most romantic table on the first floor by the window. But in the end the experience left a lot to be desired.
Our waitress was always trying to sell something, the appetizers, lobster, dessert, etc. which is kind of annoying when you are trying to enjoy dinner.
The poritions were small and my husbands halibut (the most expensive fish on the menu) was bland and over cooked.
After the meal when the waitress brought back my ATM card, I noticed that they ran my card for $120, when they brought me the bill it was only $80. I brought it to the managers attention and he said that it was their mistake and my card would not be charged for the $120 and I let them re-run my card for the $80 charge. I was annoyed and left after dinner.
Today, when I realized that my card was charged both the $80 and the $120, the only thing that they could say is "Call us on Monday, so we can work it out with the banks".
I was very annoyed...I will never go back to the Chart House - for being a "high end" seafood place, I feel as though their customer service should be better and their waitress' should not be trying to sell the most expensive items on the menu to everyone.
You could go to legal seafood and go all out with wine and app's for the price it costs at the Chart House.
The only plus for the Chart House, is the parking lot in the back!
Extremeley Bad Experience.
I went to the Chart house with five of my girlfriends for Boston?s Restaurant Week because I had never been there and wanted to try something new. Sadly, the experience was overall, horrific. This higher-end seafood/ steakhouse establishment should have top of the line service and quality food, neither of which I was impressed with. Our waiter was less than pleasant throughout dinner and was completely biased towards our table once he found out we were ordering from the ?Restaurant Week? menu. Between dinner and desert, one of my friends got a drink accidentally dumped on her, and only got reimbursed a extremely minimal amount, which was ridiculous for this higher-end establishment. The waiter never apologized or even offered to pay for the dry cleaning bill. We talked to the manager after dinner and basically got scolded for complaining about the service.
The customer service and waiter attentiveness at the Chart house was bellow par. You could get a better waiter service at McDonalds. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone, and was appalled at the experience. I would highly recommend that you take your business elsewhere.
A great experience.
I've been there 3 times so far and going again tomorrow. This is one of my favorite restaurants and I think both the food and atmosphere are amazing. I hear the steak very good but I've only had the seafood and I've never left unsatisfied.
I have to agree with some people that the service can use a little work considering the place is pretty expensive. Last time I was there I got singled out by the waiter to get IDed to drink wine. I'm 24, and one of the people I was with was turning 21 that night. It was a little awkward but that doesn't change my opinion of the restaurant.
Fabulous place- I highly recommend it!
