Perfect evening. You ever stumble upon a very unlikely restaurant in a very unlikely location and decide to give it a shot? Well that's what happenned to my husband and I . We came into the North End of Boston which I guess is the Italian section. After walking down the main street which there had to be 60 Italian restaurants we looked at many trying to decide where we were going for dinner that evening. Not yet sure we decided to walk back to our hotel which was the fairmount hotel on Battery wharf and as we were walking we noticed a restaurant completely isolated from the rest of them right near our hotel. We looked at the menu outside and a lovely slide show high lighting some great looking dishes and also some celebrites such as Gordon Ramsay and my husband reconized Zdeno Chara who is the Captain of the Boston bruins. To make a long story short it was enough to let us call and make a reservation and we were glad we did. The restaurant was very quaint . We were seated in a half moon booth which was cozy and romantic. The host was very pleasant and made us feel at home immediately and the food was incredible. Our waiter was very attentive and the host who we later found out he was one of the owners gave us great service. The wine he recommended was very good and he matched it uop well wiith our dinners. Basically we found that hidden place off the main drag that once you find it it becomes a special place for you. Even though we are not from Boston we visit alot and believe me each trip we plan for Boston Davide will be a stop for us. Thank you for a special delicious evening.…
Nothing but high recommendation for Davide. I have been to Davide several times and have to say everything I ever tried was great. The service is very attentive but not over baring . I have to say the Osso Bucco is the best in the city by far and I have had it in many places. The food is good the service is fun and you are never rushed so what else is there . Oh ya a full bar with great wines and my favorite a large selection of grappa…
North End's Best.
I joined City search to review Davide. I had such a great expierence here from the moment we sat down. The owner who is on the floor making sure everyone has a nice time is one of the funniest
people I ever meet. This guy should be a comedian. He made us laugh all night.
The staff was great also and the food was perfect. I had the osso bucco which is veal shanks with saffron rissotto and it has to be the best in Boston. My husband had the pappadella with short rib and it was great and I Guess it was shown to the chef by Gordon Ramsay himself. All in all a fun night.…
Great Italian Off the Beaten Path.
This evening was my third visit to Davide in Boston's North End, and I continue to be pleased. I originally tried Davide after their feature on Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, and whether its
his influence or not, this is a great Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy and truly representative of a family dining experience.
I highly recommend the Tre Colori salad, short rib pasta and lobster pasta - all great dishes - and that's coming from an Italian with fabulous cooks in the family.
So venture off of the busy-tourist filled streets of the North End and enjoy a delicious, fresh meal.…
Hidden gem. I never write reviews because I don't think my opinion matters that much because I read reviews to alot of places and the expierence usually is not even close to some of the reviews so until I go myself they are only words. But Davide is really a hidden gem. You won't stumble by it walking around the North End even though it's located a block from tourist trap Hanover st. Do yourself a favor and google map it. Once there you are going to be impressed . The food was very, very good especially the puff pastry filled with mushrooms,WOW!!! and the pasta is super good. I was told the fussilli are made by the owners mother and believe me I have never had anything like IT Waiters great and guess what Italian who all speak Italian not some young kid who isn't even old enough to drink wine so how is he going to recommend what I should be drinking hah? AND big private booths where I enjoyed dinner with my wife not some stranger two feet away at another table. Plenty of room at Davide. I wanted to do five stars but I believe you always have room for improvement even if I wouldn't have changed a thing for my night out. Thanks Davide. Will be back again and again…
