The Scene – The original location of this popular Irish pub once served as a meeting place during the American Revolution; it's since relocated to a cozy side street off Faneuil Hall. Creaky floors, brass rails and dark wood paneling, softened by toile curtains and cushions, bring to mind a bar decorated by your grandmother. No matter how packed the tavern becomes, the staff remains friendly and polite. – – The Draw – The Green Dragon is a step above most nearby Irish pubs, avoiding the pickup-joint vibe of other establishments in favor of a relaxed, comfortable…
Editor's Tips
- When to Go:
- Don't stroll in here expecting traditional Irish folk tunes; cover bands pump out classic pop-rock Wednesday-Sunday nights. The closest you're likely to get is a mixed-bag Open Mic on Mondays.
- The Extras:
- Skip the usual brunch offerings for a full Irish breakfast--baked beans and all--served Saturdays and Sundays from 11am-3pm.

Great Irish Pub

Very cool Irish pub. The location is great, right near Fanieul Hall. They have professional bartenders that are very good. Highly recommended.
- Pros: Great Bartenders
- Cons: A little hard to find, but worth it.
Trying to do too things at once.

I've been a couple times, once Monday for lunch, and once Friday for drinks. For lunch the food was good, not great, but the service was helpful. On Friday they were charging way too much for a mediocore band and the service was poor at best. There are Irish places, places with more histroy historiy, and bars with better music.
- Pros: Food
- Cons: Service

Far and away one of the best Black and Tans I have ever drank. I also tried my first lobster roll, which was very fresh tasting. Good fresh green pickle too. My sister said her corned beef sandwich was melt-in-her mouth good.
- Pros: attentive service, near historic sites, good food
The Swinging Johnsons

The Swinging Johnsons played at the Green Dragon last night and my friend and I had such a great time. We had the best seat in the house - in the alcove against the front window. Although the service was a little slow, the burger and wrap were good. We had a great time! And the best part, NO COVER!
- Pros: Great Band, Great Location, Good Food
- Cons: Slow service
