What People Are Saying About Beantown Pub

In Short – Located a short stroll from the Park Street T Stop, this casual hotspot attracts both locals and tourists alike. Featuring eight TVs throughout the bar and eight billiards tables in a separate room, the Beantown's a popular Downtown destination among college students and young professionals. That all twelve beers on tap are under $5 helps make it an affordable night out. Perfect for late-night eats, its pub-fare menu is available until 1am.

Editor's Tips

Parking:
Parking in the area will prove difficult. Eliminate the frustration of circling the area for a spot and take the T to Park Street.
Know Before You Go:
Good place for an inexpensive lunch or dinner--but all patrons must be 21 after 6pm.

  1. Usually an equal mix of locals and people from away, Beantown Pub combines a good beer selection, pool tables, Golden Tee and good grub with substandard service.
  2. If you want to drink beer and laugh, go there and be a fan to someone who shouldn't be entertaining for free.
  3. The beers (Sam Adams of course) were very cold, the pretzels were great and the clam chowder was some of the best I've had.
  4. The only good thing I have to say about this pub is that they have good mixed drink specials.
  5. Good slection of beer on tap.

How is this pub in business ?

by liamwexford at Citysearch

I have been visiting pubs all over the World for the last 43 years on a "too often and too long" frequency and I have seldom met a more rude member of staff as I have observed as the Beantown Pub. He must be the proprietor because I fail to understand how he holds on to his position behind the bar with the attitude he displays. I pointed this out to a member of staff and told her I was embarrassed to be an Irishman.

Tourist hot spot!

by laughingoddess at Citysearch

Always busy! In the heart of downtown just steps away from the commons. Service is decent.

Tasty food, and with woodchuck on tap I have no complaints! A bit pricey but nothing unexpected for Boston.

  • Pros: pool tables, woodchuck on tap
  • Cons: busy!

Want to meet a suffolk law student?

by EntropyNinja , Citysearch Contributor at Citysearch

Usually an equal mix of locals and people from away, Beantown Pub combines a good beer selection, pool tables, Golden Tee and good grub with substandard service. Its location next to Suffolk Law makes it a popular after class watering hole for students and professors. Sure, the students you’ll find there after classes let out aren’t going to be as classy as those in Cambridge, but they are waaayyy more fun. So, if you’re looking for a place to eat pub grub over a pool table (the nachos are wonderful) and mix with locals and/or tourists, Beantown just might be your heaven.

  • Pros: food, beer, law students!, pool tables
  • Cons: law students!, crowded, expensive beer

great downtown pub

by beatrix at Citysearch

this is a great pub right downtown at Park Street. Always always fun and good greasy pub grub. Definitely good 20-30s crowd and a mix of types of ppl, generally good music and many pool tables in the back. Always good stuff!

  • Pros: pub, beer
  • Cons: no harpoon( I think...)

Great hangout place

by meishoney at Citysearch

The food was not bad, the place is catered to those who are into some pool game fun and enjoying good food all at the same time. Great place, great location, service is not bad. I've been there more than once, however, the customer service is not consistent. there are times where the server was attentive, there are times where i was completely being ignored and there are times where the server would forget to bring some of our food to our table. I would recommend this place for good food and fun, and great place to hang out with friends, but definitely won't be enjoyed by those who values great customer service.
