Yepp, its good.... The atmosphere is nice, very pub-ish. The food is good, if you like Beantown Pub you will like Hub Pub.

I was astounded to read the negative reviews on here. I went for a drink with friends around 7pm on a week day and it was great. The service was a little slow but nothing bad.

The bathroom is downstairs so if you're traveling with anyone disabled this is not ideal.

Also, in bars, I have learned that it is best to go for drinks, if you expect excellent sit down service go to a diner not a bar.

I don't think anything of going up to the bar to pay my bill when I'm ready to leave.

And I'm hoping they got rid of the rodent problem as I saw no traces of the little devils.

Rodents Running Across The Dining Room Floor.. I just went there tonight with some friends tonight for dinner. We were seated on the upper level for dinner and drinks. There were 5 of us sitting up there. As we were waiting for our meal one of my friends said that he saw a large rodent . I laughed and told him that he was crazy. Then another friend saw a large running rodent then I saw a large running rodent. When we told the waitress she said that the owner would be notified. When she came back up again the raodent ran across her path. She never once apologized or offered us so much as a free drink. We paid the check and scurried out. I won't be going back there again anytime soon.

Test site for Dettol. The food was OK you get what you pay for and the service was reasonably prompt but there was an overpowering stink of disinfectant.

Good Bar for people good at Bar going.. I never write reviews. However, I now feel obligated to. I just read a recent review that was written by someone that must not get out much. I witnessed their experience. I also witnessed how they treated their server as if she was lucky to wait on them. Then I noticed another customer in the area impersonate an employee and confront them(something I wish I did but didn't because I wasn't drunk). The dork that wrote about a drunk staff shouldn't comment about social activities until they're invited or welcome. Yes, the waitress was a bit ditzy, not tipsy. Yes, someone(not an employee) wanted to fight them. But, I was observing the entire thing. I would sum up their experience as another time that they A) tried to treat someone poorly because they thought they could B) try to get off being cheap, and C) used their computer to try and justify being a dork instead of using it as a lover.

That was my first time at the Hub Pub. And I'm definately going back now. I was turned off by nothing other than the fact that it isn't legal in there to torture Dorks that expect pampering in places we go to have fun.

Horrible!. Upon arriving at Hub Pub it was blatantly clear that the waitresses were more drunk than anyone they were serving. On top of the horrible service when we paid our bill we were yelled at by our waitress who was upset we did not leave her a 20% tip (not deserved). Another waitress came to her defense stating 20% was Massachusetts state law. When we told the drunk waitress she did not deserve that, she began crying and ran to her manager. The manager, also drunk, got in one of my friends faces, yelled at him and tried to fight him. Obviously unprofessional, this manager thought it alright to harass and threaten his own patrons. If you must visit Hub Pub, be prepared to tip well or deal with the whining of an intoxicated waitress.

the fraudster. The self proclaimed friendliest pub in Boston is the biggest fraudster I have ever come across (and I have been to a lot of pubs in Boston). It was a cold but cheerful January Friday evening when my girl friend and I visited the Hub Pub in down town Boston. Things began normal enough, we were having a great time chatting and drinking. As the evening went on we noted that the waitress was anything but friendly. In fact she told us that ?a thank you would be nice? after bring our beers to the table. At first I thought I had forgotten to thank her so when she came back the second time I made sure that I thanked her help. At the end of night she brought the bill over and left it on the table as we were busy chatting away. Then she turned back and again said ?a thank you would be nice!?. I couldn?t understand why she was being antsy and I felt I had the need to speak to the manager to express my dissatisfaction at the service, which I had actually paid a 20% tip for. As the manager and I were talking the barman decided he was to join the conversation. As I explained to him what had happened he raised his voice at me and came out of the bar and told me that ?I don?t care where you come from, stop talking or I will break you face in!? I was absolutely shocked to the core. I felt there was no need to talk to the barman anymore and left the pub. I wanted to share this horrid experience at the Hub Pub with all pub goers in Boston and I would never return to the Hub Pub in the future.

New Years NightMare. The security guard checking licenses was blatently prejudice. He ruined New Years for a mixed group of patrons. We opted not to stay and vowed never to retuned.
