I was disappointed with the Red Wing Pizza that I had recently. There was absolutely no tomato sauce, pizza crust was rubbery and extremely greasy. My mother's tooth literally fell out after trying to chew the pizza. I highly recommend the Fried Clam plate with the bellies. The French Fries were the best and so was the Cole Slaw.

Sorta Good. Just ate at the Red Wing Diner.

The Calmari was saturated with grease.

The Whole Belly Fried Clam plate was also very greasy.

It was sorta good for the price.

The best service was when we received the bill and the tip was due.

We will not return in the future. Will stick to Legal Seafood, The C-Bar at Legacy Place, Dedham ,

MA.

Regards,

Greg

Great Scallops better than the Cape!. This is a restaurant my parents would go to back in the day, when I grew up I went there also. I moved out of the area and hadn't been there in about 15 years, recently my sister and I were in the area and decided to see if it was still good. We had the best scallops ever, price was great also. Can't wait to make the drive to go there again and we will no question about that.

Great eats, super service!. I have been eating here for over 30 years, mostly every Friday. Clams and pizza! Working past supper, no problem stop at the wing on your way home. You won't be dissappointed!!

Workers point of view. ok look, everyone thats on this bashing the red wing, its a great place to eat. sure the line isnt extending out the door anymore, but come in on a friday night and it almost is like it use to be. Where else can you get fried clams and fries(or onion rings for a dollar more) for only $17.95. When you come in close to closing time, ofcourse the food isnt going to be 5 star, because its close to closing, and at the red wing, people have been coming in all day. so the food does run low towards closing. the wait staff is great and the new owner could not be better. Sure people may consiter me biast because i work there, but the food and service is still great. So what if it declined recently, have you taken a look at the economy? The food is still great. fishermans platter alone($33) feeds two people with enough to take home for another meal for one. its great and with the fish and food on the platter, its an amazing price. They are open tuesday thru saturday 11:30-10 PM and Sunday 12-8. having been going to this place since iwas little and then working there, i can honestly say that this place is genuine in their efforts. it has also been within the family for over 50 years. it just recently changed owners, and the new owner is looking to bring it back to the original diner car, so for all you who remember the old car, it may be coming back. the only downside to this place, is tey do not accept american express. but it has group dining and a bar and take out is available. i would rate this place 4 1/2 stars out of 5. i have always loved this place, and will always love it.

Really Good Cheese Pizza. I love their pizza, have been going for years-mostly takeout. I have had the seafood in the past and it was always good-but too expensive for me. If I'm going to spend that much I'd like a little more of a dining experience-since I don't dine out excessively. Does not accept AMEX

It's The Platter That Matters. When I want MORE FOOD THAN I CAN EAT ( I weighed 287 lbs last Saturday ) I think of the Redwing

The Fishermans platter ( Like 32$ with Clam Strips , $ 37 with whole clams)

It feeds 2 hungry people with enough to bring home a doggy bag ( unusual for me )

The platter has a solid base of French Fries , layered on are 4 or 5 pieces of fried fish, maybe 10 Scallops

4 or 5 Shrimp and maybe 10 clams , Topped with a MOUNTAIN of real onion rings

It's got Old School formica ambiance

The few times I've tried anything else , it was fine , typical bar pizza for a reasonable price.

CLAMS!!!. I don't know what the February Guy was talking about. The clams are fantastic and bountiful. The broiled scallops are great as well. The February Guy is a clam hater. Go to Applebees for your chicken strips!!! Leave the Redwing clams for the rest of us real clam eaters.

Don't Bother. Stopped in Saturday night around 9pm with my wife. We both ordered the fried clams (bellies). For $17.95 we got 10 clams each and a pile of luke warm fries. The side of onion rings were overcooked and luke warm. I got the distinct impression they were serving us leftovers.

Including 2 iced teas, the tab was $45. You can get way better food elsewhere for this price.

Avoid this place like the plague, it's not what it used to be.

Once a great diner, now???. A once legendary destination diner has declined in recent years. The lines used to extend around the outside of the building through the parking lot. Not anymore!

The quality of the food has declined, along with the building and the clientel.

The pizza recipe has changed over the years and is greasy.

The fried clams and scallops, once the Red Wing's claim to fame, are still good.

Let's be honest; you have to try real hard to make poor tasting fried anything.

But, alas, the fries were soggy.

Stop by and get a clam plate, and a pizza to go and share your thoughts!
