Dependably good food, good menu, good value. Took my wife there on a weeknight and we were very happy with the service and atmosphere.
- Pros: Good, not typical menu
- Cons: None
Just Horrible

My boyfriend and I decided to eat here recently on a Sunday night. He had been here in the past and had always had great meals, so I was initially very excited about our meal. It had been a while since he had been, but supposedly it was still great.
First, we ordered 2 glasses of wine. When the waiter brought the wine, I noticed that the glasses were not very clean, but I know that dishwashers often leave watermarks, but when I looked closer, I also noticed 3 small insects floating in my wine glass. DISGUSTING! The waiter promptly took the glass away, apologized, and replaced it.
Then, when we were brought bread and hummus, I took my napkin off the appetizer plate, and noticed that there was a big dirty blob of hummus on the appetizer plate, under the napkin! (The table was set when we sat down). Again, the waiter apologized, blamed it on the bus boy, and replaced my plate.
Our main courses were nothing to jump up and down about. I had lobster ravioli, and you couldn't really taste the lobster. My boyfriend had a seafood special with mahi-mahi, and said it was pretty good, but couldn't finish it all. The BEST part of the meal was when the waiter asked if my boyfriend wanted to take home the remainder of the mahi-mahi...and leaned in to whisper to us, "You know that I just found out today that Mahi-mahi is actually Dolphin?!" We looked at him, and replied, "It's Dolphin FISH, not Dolphin." This guy didn't even know what he was serving!
When he brought us the bill, I was very surprised that nothing was taken off the bill because of the insects or dirty plate...AND on top of it, the bill listed a higher price for my meal than what was on the menu. Unbelieveable.
I will never eat here again. Thouroughly disappointed. My boyfriend was embarassed that the place he had loved before had totally gone downhill.
- Pros: good hummus and bread; past good meals
- Cons: dirty dishes; inexperienced waiters; overpriced food
Best Italian outside of the North End

Lastoria is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I've been here many times. It's a great place for a first date. The food at Lastoria isn't your standard pasta and tomato sauce Italian food. There are so many choices here. I've had a few different risotto dishes here and they're to die for! If you find yourself on the South Shore and you're looking for a great meal, definately give these guys a visit.
- Pros: interesting specials, incredible food, cozy
- Cons: parking, limited space
