Best Middle Eastern Food and Great Caterer. Have been to the restaurant many times and enjoy the food immensely. Decided to hold a bridal shower there and used the function room. People are still calling and emailing at how fabulous the food was! I can't say enough about how amenable the owner and staff were to any and all requests. Would definitely recommend using them. Very professional and the food was presented beautifully as well as being delicious! Thanks Byblos!
Good food. food is authentic and tradional however, i experienced poor service. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best veg. middle-eastern food. Went there for lunch with a few friends and pretty much ordered all the vegetarian options that they have. The food was very tasty. I have eaten at a number of Middle-eastern restaurants in the U.S. and I believe the food here is definitely some of the best that I have had. All my friends loved it too. Highly recommend the place.
The word that comes to my mind is FRESH!. Every time we dine there I say the word "fresh" like 10 times to my husband. The food is so good and "fresh". The falafels are the best I have ever had. The owner takes such pride in the establishment and it shows. Great quality control, everything is so clean (I have even seen the owner inspect the silverware), the staff is so friendly and right there when you need them also they are very professional. If Gordon Ramsey walked in there he would be amazed. We know Gordon loves to fine flaws in every establishment and he wouldn't here. I had to mention that a couple sitting at a table next to us drove from Lynnfield to go to Byblos because they said it was the best they ever had and were craving it. That should tell you something. The only thing I am surprised about is that it isn't as busy as it should be. With food and service like this, the place should be jammed every night of the week with a long wait for tables. I guess I should be happy if it is a "best kept secret" so I can get in without waiting too long but I bet that will be short lived as this place is a wonderful and "fresh" haven for food lovers like me.
Best Middle Eastern Food on the Planet..
Having eaten in Middle Eastern Restaurants for many years , I can say that Byblos is truly at the very top of the list. Whether it be lamb, chicken, beef, or vegetarian dishes, my family and I have never been disappointed.
The appetizers and salads are also outstanding. The wait staff and owner, Maurice make you feel right at home and always make sure that you are completely satisfied.
We have also attended private parties in the restaurant?s beautiful banquet room. The fixed menu for these parties was outstanding. One delicious dish after another.
On Friday nights the live band and belly dance show are an added treat.
Best Middle Eastern cusine !. If you are looking for a "feast", stop looking, walk into Byblos. We celebrated my daughter's 1st birthday for around 70 people. The manager Maurice was such a gracious host. He oversaw the entire party very efficiently. The servers were kind and courteous. The function hall was well lit and tables setup - great. The buffet table was very well managed. The food was plenty and preparation was indeed out-of-this-world. My guests left raving about the food and also the ambiance. Touch down for Byblos!!!
Don't have a private function at Byblos. I had a private function for 70 people. The service was slow. Food was ok. Some of my guests left before desert because food was served so late. I was overcharged about $500 after the function was over. I would not recommend having a private function at Byblos. The management is very dishonest and doesn't treat customers with respect. A few of my guests were also displeased with the service.
Who knew I would love Lebanese food so much?. I really do love this restaurant. The food is excellent . I can't think of any negatives except for one small thing (which I don't particularly think is a negative) I have to warn everyone that on some dishes they give really large portions so you may want to be careful when ordering. They have the best hummus and the kibbe is amazing. If you've never had kibbe, TRY THE KIBBE. You will love it. I always love going in because I like to try new things and I am not very familiar with Lebanese food. The waiters are always nice about helping me choose something I haven't had before and I always love it. I still haven't tried the deserts yet, but everything else I tried was great. (Get the kibbe. )
Byblos, you can roll my grape leaves anytime.
If you are looking for middle eastern food, this place is it, but don't go just because they've cornered the market. The food is well prepared and it seems like everytime I go, there is live belly dancing and a live band. I'm pretty sure the place is family owned, so I was expecting a wait staff of 16 year olds, but they all seem to be older and more experienced than I expected; some of them even know about wine. Speaking of wine, check out the lebanese (bordeaux style) Chateau Kefraya. There is nothing like it! Also, I've never seen it in any other restaurant, although they do sell it down the street at Cedar's.
With that being said, the restaurant is lacking in some little things that stop it from being a really top notch place. The decor speaks that this is still a local restaurant, and phone conversations for reservations can be somewhat awkward. Despite the little holdbacks, Byblos is a great place to bring your family or a date (both of which I have done, with positive results). My advice to newcomers is to ask questions and just dive right in. Everything is good, and the portions are enormous.
Poor service, ok food.
I had been to Byblos yesterday and the service was appalling. It must be that it is a biased service. People in the restaurant of middle eastern got a different treatment than other folks. We had ordered family platter and the food was ok. We did not get a customary question of how the food was, nor were our drinks refilled.
I would definitely not go there again.
