Editorial Review for Stow Acres Country Club (North) – by Citysearch Editors

The Course
The North covers rolling woodland terrain with old-growth hardwood that throws afternoon shade on naturally sculpted humps, valleys and shoulders of earth.

The Experience
Hole after hole places demands on your tee shot. Approaches sometimes seem heroic when they're not very complicated at all; this is due to the towering scale of the trees and the deep hollows and swales that look pretty to a hiker but can play with depth perception. The signature hole is the par-4 ninth hole. You aim your tee shot slightly right to avoid a pond, then it's a full carry over another pond to a narrow green that is protected by a bunker on the right side.

Review of NORTH COURSE. This place is working off of old reputation and thats it! Greens were nice but the rest of the course was a cow pasture, they have totally let the rough go, hard pan just off the fairways, and the fairways are a mix of grass and weeds. HIGHLY disappointing for $82 on the weekend, they should be ashamed to charge that much for this course. It may have been a gem 10 yrs ago but as of right now, I would never go back. Pay the extra $20 for Red Tail or Shaker Hills, or save $20 and play Kettle Brook or High Fields.

I simply love this courses (I have played North and South). The environment is simply perfect to have a good time. I found the maintenance of the course very good.

Pros: maintenance, value, environment

Cons: nothing to report
