“Happy to hear that miniluxe is goin to offer it especially after they open their Lexington location which will be even more convenient for me!”
“heard about minx a few months ago and was eager to try it but haven't found a good place that does it Good to hear minilux is doing it.”
“All I can say is that I had to hold back tears as I left the salon this morning because my brows look so terrible and the staff didn't care at all.”
Lexington Location!. Great news! That is right by me and I have been wanting to try MiniLuxe. My sister goes to the one in Newton Centre and has nothing but great things to say about the lounge. It will be nice to have a change from the more standard nail salons that we are used to here in Lexington. Welcome MiniLuxe!
Opening in Lexington!. I was in ML yesterday and Shayna told me that they are opening a new location in Lexington in the fall?! This is great news for all us die-hard commuters!!! I have been going to MiniLuxe for the past year and while it’s a bit of a hike, I refuse to stray. It is extremely clean, the girls are awesome, and I always leave happy. So pumped that I can cut the drive in half and still have my weekly ML treat!
Turned my day around!. I’d had a rough day at work last Friday and decided I needed a little pampering so I went to Mini-Luxe. Usually I just go for a basic manicure, but like I said I’d had a rough day so I treated myself to the Diva manicure. It was well worth it!!! In addition to the usual hand massage, they gave me these warming gloves that I swear are magic because my hands came out softer than ever. The girl that did my nails was incredibly sweet, she allowed me to vent and I felt like I was having a conversation with my BFF!!! Great way to turn around a bad day, I’ll definitely be going back again – hopefully on a good day!!!
CLEAN and friendly!. I am very picky when it comes to nail salons because I worry about hygiene. I decided to try Miniluxe because every time I walked by I noticed how bright and clean it looked inside. I was super thrilled when my manicurist pulled out a sealed package of new tools just for me! Any doubts I had about cleanliness vanished immediately. Besides being extremely clean, the staff was friendly and my manicure was great. I got it 7 days ago and it is still holding up!
Perfect eyebrows. Had to chime in to agree with the most recent reviewer that Meredith (who was at Michaud until they closed) does an absoluted gorgeous, professional job with eyebrows. I, too, have followed her from Michaud to Miniluxe Newton to Miniluxe Boston. She is fantastic.
Huh? FANTASTIC brow shaping!!. It makes me sick to read this person's review because the brow shaper at Miniluxe on Newbury St is an absolute EXPERT - she's been doing my brows for over 10 years and is incredible -- I've followed her from place to place and I think my brows look pretty damn great!!!
Do NOT get your eyebrows shaped at Minluxe.
I originally learned about MiniLuxe because they're the only boutique in the area that carries a certain brand of lipstick that I wanted. While I was in there, I noticed that they offer eyebrow shaping by tweezing instead of waxing. I'm going to start using Renova so I can't get my brows waxed any more so I thought I'd try their service instead of my usual waxer. The woman at the salon told me that the woman who does their brows used to work for Julie Michaud. I thought that if she worked for her, she must be unbelievable.
All I can say is that I had to hold back tears as I left the salon this morning because my brows look so terrible and the staff didn't care at all. After a bunch of tweezing, the esthetician showed me the result in the mirror. I was horrified! They were two different shapes -- one had an arch and the other had kind of no shape. One was thinner than the other and one was longer than the other. She didn't trim them enough so there were wiry hairs sticking out of the brow line.
When I told her my opinion, she disagreed but started plucking again. She showed me the results and guess what -- they were still two different shapes, lengths and thicknesses. She tried again. Now my two brows were both unattractively thinned out, one was still longer than the other and they were still different shapes. And there were still hairs sticking out from the brow line.
I think we just both realized that she was never going to fix them to make me happy so I said "ok, fine" and she wandered off to the back room. As I paid, I told the woman "This is horrible!" and she told me I looked fine and shrugged.
I went to a cosmetics store and bought a brow kit so I could try to make them look normal until I figure out what to do.
I just got home and measured the lengths and arches of my brows using the trusty pencil method. They are indeed different lengths and shapes.
