Finally!! some new flavor to low cost mexican food in the Boston area!.
I was very excited to stumble across tiny little Olecito outside Inman Square. I had given up on Boston Mexican food, after 4 burrito joints took over Harvard Square. However good, they are all the same, and all their menu items taste the same, whether it be fish, chicken or steak, wrapped, folded or fried. Olecito has variety of flavor, and fresh tasting cuisine. Yes, the have burritos, but I would encourage you to eat here off the beaten path.... try the Baja taco with fried shrimp and pickled cabbage or mexican style sandwich, called a torta. And true to the rest of the place, even their salsa is unique. A smoky blend of cooked tomatoes and peppers. Thumbs up to Olecito for being brave enough to add some variety!

Ole's little sibling serves tasty Mexican takeout in Inman Square..
The diminutive Olecito lacks seating but loads up on flavor, serving satisfying Mexican street food in a (relatively) quiet corner of Cambridge. Music spills onto the street as the colorful, handwritten menu and cheery decor welcome those hungry for inexpensive burritos, tacos, and other hand-held south-of-the-border treats. The simple menu offers a range of selections including tortas (such as the piolin, which includes adobo-marinated chicken, avocado, and chipotle mayo), tacos and posole (a soup with pork and chilies). Burritos are large and stuffed with cheese and guacamole. A variety of fruity Jarritos tops off an authentic meal.

Terrific burritos!!!.
I was very pumped when I saw a burrito shop moved into Inman Sq. This area has a number of restaurants, but none of them are very quick. This takes the cake. I've only had their burriots but they are quite good. Not Anna's level, but pretty close. Also, not as cheap. But under $6 for the burrito and chips/salsa is reasonable. Give it a shot if you are in the area!
