Worst Customer Service Ever. I have to say that I am sickened by the treatment I received by the staff of the Fat Cat tonight. I went in with my family before my daughter's recital in Quincy Center. We arrived at 5:00 on a rainy Sunday night and requested a table for 4. At this point my husband mentioned that we may have a guest join us if she was able to make it from work on time before the show. The hosts' (one male, one female- neither offered their name or a manager) informed us that if she did and there was a seat available they "wouldn't allow her to order off the menu". As we questioned this policy they informed us it was not at all flexible and they would not serve her if we sat and placed and app order first, she could only have drinks. Are you kidding me? Holding table times to a minimum during a rush is one thing, but to turn away guests of any empty restaurant is senseless, and frankly bad business. For the record, I had a great meal at the Fours around the corner, on the way out our PARTY of 5 walked by to see, and they were still DEAD! Their loss! Never dining there again, and will be telling everyone I know to stay away. Customer service is just as important as food quality!

Rude and Inhospitable. The absolutely rudest, most unfriendly service I've ever received in my life. Never stepping foot into this place again.

Weekdays only unless you want to wait. I have been to the Fat Cat a few times. The food is just phenominal! I actually had maki shark the last time I was there. The owner seems to be present oftenand cleans up tables and makes sure the place is always running smothly, great guy. The bartenders are always pleasent and fun, never dull. The only issue is trying to squeez in there on a weekend. There are so many times I have tred to go there and just had to keep walking. The place is so good I wish they could expand. Keep up the good work Fat Cat, I will always be there for your fresh seafood!

Great food terrible hostess. The food at fat cat was great along with the server, but the ruined our meal before it even started. Her attitude at the door started our lunch on an unpleasant note. I would definitely go back, but I'd sit at the bar.

i couldn't get fat at this place. Two Thumbs Down!

I really wanted to like this place, Phantom Gourmet gave it a Hidden Jewel and The Name Alone appealed to me. It was no gem!

The space is nice, I can see the effort they put into making it a unique establishment, unfortunately they need to address the real concern The Food.

App: I ordered Crab Cakes, great value but I didn't like picking out crab shell would you?

Mid course: I got the Lobster & Crab Quesadilla, again great value but was disappointed to find the corn salsa was not inside the Quesadilla, which made it weird havfing just seafood and cheese inside, it had no Mexican kick to it. Also, I found the Asiago cheese inside the quesadilla to be a strong clash of flavor against the seafood. I wish I could say that the corn salsa they served on the side with the quesadilla was good but it was BLAND.

Entree: Haddock Sandwich with fries. The fries were piled high and delicious. HOWEVER, the haddock was SO over cooked that when you pulled away the batter to reveal the fish you couldn't get the fish to flake. I've had better (really bad) fish filets at McD's and that means it was inedible. I returned it!

Dessert: Bread Pudding it was the only part of the meal I found totally acceptable, not Great but OK.

I love sole proprietor businesses, I vie for the little guy but this place needs to pay attention to what is going on in the kitchen.

The waitress was great and I left her a good tip.

Although i didn't get a drink they have a huge unique beer selection, it's probably best for a snack and drinks only

Definitely going back!!. Went to Fat Cat for the first time today. The food was DELICIOUS!!! The potato soup was tremendous, thick with corn and chunks of potato. Just the right thickness, and I should have gotten a bowl not a cup!! The Raspberry Vinergrette on the Chopped Salad was refreshing and the salad it self was large, and very fresh. BUT...MOST IMPORTANTLY...the Lobster Mac n Cheese was UNBELIEVEABLE!!!! HUGE chunks of lobster. I mean huge! I had a whole piece of claw meat in mine! The combination of the different cheeses in the sauce was PERFECT!

Service was fast, the food was at the table before i finished my first drink!

A+++ Highly Recomended!!

Quincy newcomer serves upscale comfort fare in the heart of downtown.. Comfort food in a comfortable environment, with some extra class and inventiveness, defines this quaint Quincy restaurant. A giant, fat and happy cat painted on one of the exposed-brick walls welcomes diners to the intimate bar and dining area. A varied wine list and mixed drinks are served at the bar, and the eclectic American menu offers a bit of something for everyone. But variety does not undermine quality, as each dish is prepared with extra touches, creative ingredients, and unexpected flavors. Highlights include fried pickles, pulled pork nachos, twelve different varieties of wings, hand-cut fries with a choice of seasonings (Cajun, blackened, fajita) and lobster mac-and-cheese. A friendly and unpretentious staff completes the experience.
