Birthday, anniversary, wedding and more - the Spirit of Boston cruise ship is a personal celebration setting unlike any other on the harbor! …
This is a great event. I invited 26 people to help celebrate my wife's birthday and our 25th wedding anniversary and the Spirit of Boston staff exceeded my expecations. All of my guests were thrilled with the service and food and really enjoyed the unique event. The ship has been painted recently and really looks great. The price was not that bad either.
awesome!. I am shocked not to 5 stars on all of these reviews. I went on the spirit the weekend before Christmas. The boat was beautifully decorated, and we were greeted by a friendly staff. The food on the buffet was delicious and hot! The dj played great dancing music, and the floor was never empty. I had a wonderful experience!!! Look forward to going again.
Nice views, crappy food and service. We were on the 3rd deck - smaller seating area and smaller buffet than on the other deck. They come around to your table and tell you when you can go up to the buffet. We were in about the middle for our deck and we didn't get called up until almost an hour into the cruise. It's only a two hour cruise. The food was terrible. Even the mashed potatoes were gross. My son ate rolls and butter only. We cruised on the family fun lunch on a Sunday afternoon but there was nothing family friendly for kids - no chicken fingers, no fries, no plain pasta. For dessert they bring you a dish with a slice of cheesecake and some chocolate covered ice cream thing. We received ours at the very end as we were tying up at the dock. Terrible timing. Wouldn't recommend it!
going on a boat. Everyone living in the City has to go on the cruise at least once, it is one of those rights of passage. But, after returning to dock you see that it was expensive and the food wasn't good at all. but, regardless, you have to try it!
Great afternoon treat.
We were in Boston on business which concluded before lunch and did not fly out till the evening. Spirit Cruises was a fantastic way to see the city from a different perspective, have a good lunch and a little entertainment.
We were celebrating our 25th anniversary and the crew made it extra special.

Is Cinderella sailing?. This is what the Spirit of Boston does best! We have been waiting for the Princesses to come back! This is the best entertainment, the best family day, the best value in the city of Boston. Accept no imitations, these are the Princesses your girls want. All while you enjoy the fantasic view of Boston. We'll go every time we can!
What a GREAT time!.
True, sometimes reservation department experiences can be bad; however if you had cruised, you would have loved it! We had the opposite experience because we planned a small gathering for my Anniversary, so we dealt with group sales and it was a seamless experience. And we had such a great time! The meal was a combination of a served meal (salad and dessert courses were served to you, along with drinks) and a buffet. The food was simple, but very, very good. The entertainment - I was told there was a "small performance" and it turned out to be quite a few songs sung by very talented young performers during dinner - very entertaining! Then, the DJ came on and played favorites from the likes of Bon Jovi to the Commodores - something for everyone. We danced the night away and took breaks to go outside and enjoy the beautiful night views of the city.
This was so much fun; I can't wait to go again!!
One of Boston's most impressive vessels tours the harbor and specializes in dinner cruises and private events..
In Short
From a romantic dinner cruise for two to a corporate function for 600, the Spirit can satisfy most any event or special occasion. The ship navigates Boston Harbor, offering views and a smooth ride. Most cruises include dancig and either a live band or DJ. Contact the ship for information on special holiday cruises like a boisterous New Year's bash.
Abysmal customer service.
I had to call the Reservation Desk on a few occasions and to be perfectly honest each time I got off the phone feeling like my IQ had singlehandedly been lowered 10 points. For a corporation that would seem to cater to businesses and higher end clientele, I was surprised that they would have representatives who didn't seem to know what was going on...at all. In the end, I called the day before the cruise to confirm that the boat was still going out. The person I spoke with game me an unequivocal "yes!"...and then we arrived at the pier the next day to find that the cruise had been canceled because they hadn't sold enough tickets.
Speaking with the supervisors also left something to be desired (they told us we could take *another* cruise with *complimentary* tickets, even though we hadn't taken the cruise in the first place and they had already charged us for the tickets)
We opted to get a refund rather than rescheduling.
I have a lot of patience, but these people wore me thin.
