“great place”
“Our waitress Sanaa was great, very helpful and attentive.”
“Their mushrooms are very fresh and their prices are great.”
“We are long time fans of Terramia in the North End, and we've concluded that Chef Beppino's creations rival, and in some cases surpass, the outstanding cuisine of the North End.”
Fabulous, every dish was devine. We took my in-laws to dinner last night for their 52nd wedding anniversary and everything was delightful. From the time we were seated to the time we retrieved our coats the wait staff was courteous and attentive. Peppino the Executive Chef came to our table and greeted us and also came back after dinner and asked us how dinner was. We had a great experience. Every course, every plate was amazing. Could not have scripted a better evening. We will be back again!
HIghest priced coffee in town.
They try but not hard enough. It could be a very pleasant experience.... but: My large, beautifully plated, well seasoned fish was overcooked almost to the point of being dry. Who wants to wait 20 minutes more for them to rectify the situation?
Lovely room, but so crowded with tables that the waiters had to pause to let others go past.
We passed on the $5 coffee and desserts were $8 to $10.
A new jewel in Boston.
My husband and I have eaten at Da Vinci four times over the past two months. We are long time fans of Terramia in the North End, and we've concluded that Chef Beppino's creations rival, and in some cases surpass, the outstanding cuisine of the North End. Every meal has been delectable -- we want to work our way through the entire menu! Most recently we took two other couples to Da Vinci and were treated royally. Chef Beppino stopped by our table to ensure that the food and service met our expectations, and he was so humble and gracious. You can tell this is a man who derives great pleasure in sharing his culinary talents with an appreciative audience.
Some standout dishes include: pork chop wrapped in pancetta (best pork chop I've ever eaten!), pappardelle bosciaola (a must for lovers of mushrooms), duck in plum sauce, scallops with artichoke tapenade, and fusilli bolognese (it's a close call, but my husband decided that Chef Beppino's bolognese sauce has a slight edge over Terramia's, though both are fantastic). Da Vinci offers a tasty selection of desserts, but be sure that someone in your party is daring enough to try the trio of gelati (ice cream). I would not have believed how delectable basil gelato could be. (Yes, basil!)
Good wine selection and attentive service round out a splendid dining experience. We expect to return at least once a month.
A Night to Remember!!. I can't tell you what I liked best....the gnocci, the asparagus, the amazing specials.... the ambience, service and food were fantastic. We will spread the word. A special ocassion made even more so. We shall return.
Fantastic Food & Service. We went in a group of 4 and had a wonderful experience. Note that we are food enthusiasts and try most new restaurants in Boston. Whoever reviewed the service to be rude must have made a mistake - not only were they FAR from rude, the service was exceptional. Staff was knowledgeable and went out of their way to please us. Everything we ate, from bread onwards, was delicious. The pasta trio was unforgettable as were the desserts. Comparable to the finest in the North End, Da Vinci is a must-see.
Nice Atmosphere and Great Food!!. Great Atmosphere. Had a great time with my wife. We started out with some homemade appetizers. My wife had Bolognese and I had the FIlet Mignon. Both great dishes. Served on time and with a knowledgeable staff member's recomendation for wine. We had an amazing experience. The dinner was finalized with a nice Creme Brulee and Crosttata deserts. My wife and I will defintely make reservations to come back.
Relaxed upscale destination, helmed by Chef Peppino, serves beautifully handmade pastas and Italian specialties in high-ceilinged Theatre District restaurant and bar.. High ceilings, a granite bar, crystal candle-lamps, and sketches by Leonardo create an elegant dining atmosphere in this Italian spot in the South End. A brief menu features handmade pastas, fresh meats, and grilled fish. Highlights include braised duck. Comfy couches in the bar area offer an inviting spot for dessert and a glass of wine.
Worth Trying!!!!. I finally made it to Da Vinci with friends to break the code. i am please to say that we succeeded cause we enjoyed a wonderful service and an excellent Italian meal. The Decor was beautiful and well polished with a modern touch to it. Excellent food presentation, pasta tasting a great selection :oP<3 not to forget the souffle. We appreciated when Chef Peppino walked around and made sure that we were happy and everything was ok. I highly recommend and will be back again.
At best it's okay. I went there with a friend during the first week of opening, I felt it was very disorganized. The waiter messed up our bill and over charged us for an item we never ordered. The food wasn't anything close to spectacular for the price. I won't be going back anytime soon. The only thing Di Vinci has going on is its atmosphere.
excellent veal. The veal in this restaurant is going to be a classic for a long time to come (hope the chef reads this and keep it in the menu). The service was attentive >Overall a good expierence.
