Sachs Jewelers/A Mixed Bag. First, I am recounting something that happen over two years ago.

I am what I would describe as a good customer of Sachs Jewelers having spent over $15,000.00 on various items including an unset diamond, diamond ring settings, watches and earrings.

When Sachs Jewelers began to carry "Hearts of Fire" branded diamonds I was invited to their introduction gala. I wanted to trade in over $13,000.00 dollars worth of diamonds I had purchased (within the last year) from them as and would have added up to $1000.00 cash for a "Hearts of Fire" diamond that I had selected.

The salesman who I had always used (very attentive, very nice person) asked the owner for a figure and it was less than half the retail value. I know something about the jewelery business and I know the markup is usually 100% on finished jewelery so I figured it would be the approximate for diamonds. I thought perhaps I might be given a little bit more on the trade in for my diamonds becuase they were purchased from Sachs Jewelers and I was a good customer. The salesman asked twice and was twice told me the tradein would be approximately $6,000.00. Needless to say I was disappointed and never stepped back in Sachs shop again.

I would like to say the gentleman who was my salesman for so many years was wonderful and does call me from time to time and I wish him the best of everything. However the owners of Sachs Jewelers should remember that their business is built on little people like me who had to save for years to buy the luxuries they sell.

I am now looking to sell all my diamond jeweler and purchase a watch worthy of passing down to a beloved relative. I will not be returning to Sachs Jewelers and that makes me sad as I have always tried to frequent local merchants. I believe in building strong relationships within the community.

I have been as honest and balanced as I can; I hope this helps.

Good Reliable Jeweler. My fiance and I bought our engagement ring here. We had done a little research and knew what price we expected to be in. The staff was very helpful and beat the prices we had seen at other store- and helped us pick out a great diamond.

Crissy- our sales person was fabulous, she was very helpful and down to earth.

We will be going back- and get 50% off our bands for buying a diamond there.
