Sports bar....hmmm. 1- sports bar??!?!? definitely not the best sports bar within a 4 block radius! The Sports Depot is echelons above JTREE and likely the best in the Commonwealth. J tree is fine for a beer or gin and juice. However I had no sense of comforting pride or concern for the patrons interest in the venue, as well as feedback. The bottomline is apparently all that I am told the ownership is planted and watering for.

Takes a special person to like JTree. This place is tremendously popular, and I'm sure there is a reason for it. I just don't see it. There is always a line out front during peak hours at night. I tend to think the bouncers do that intentionally to make the place seem cool. They also don't let anyone in after one, so even if it's dead, you can't run in for the last couple drinks of the night. The food is not good. And google them to find out what's really in their top-shelf bottles.

As much as I want to categorically hate on the place though, I just can't. If it's not wall-to-wall, it's a good place to watch a game. Plus, I think Molson on tap is 3 bucks, which is decent for its kind of place.

Try it out, but don't wait in line and be disappointed.

Great for drinks and dancing. Yes, it is a college bar on the weekends, but there are still a plethora of working professionals who come. The beer is cheap ($3 for a Coors Light, whereas other places charge $4 and upwards). I can't comment on the food or mixed drinks, as I have never sampled either, but the atmosphere was fun. There usually is a line to get in, but it goes very quickly - even when I was waiting a block away in the line, I got to the entrance within 10 minutes. The downstairs is a lot of fun for groups, but if you're a girl prepare to get hit on. DJ was pretty good, bartenders were busy but attentive. Definitely a fun place for moderately priced drinks and a good place for dancing/meeting people.

With several satellite packages and plenty of large plasma TVs and high-definition screens, The Joshua Tree keeps sports fans engaged. Weekends see collegiate crowds come in to dance along to DJs. When there are no games on, patrons pass the time shooting pool or throwing darts. The 70-foot oval bar is a good spot for sampling the lengthy beer and specialty cocktail lists. Straightforward bar appetizers (fried calamari, quesadillas, potato skins), upscale sandwiches and wraps (sesame chicken salad), and more than a dozen burgers are served day and night.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Had a great time, was fun as Tonic but better as JT. Been to the JT in Somerville and NYC. If you're a beer enthusiast and go with at least one other thirsty scholar try the "table topper." Trust me, you'll enjoy it..Waitress was fun and enthusiastic, bouncer at the door was funny..

The new tonic is awesome. I loved the tonic, but the Joshua Tree is even better. The half price burger deal just cant be beat, and the burgers are fantastic. If you havent checked out the new menu at this place you need to get there soon, you will not be dissappointed. Still has the same great service.

Great place to watch a game. My fiance and I have been going to the Joshua Tree with friends since it opened. The food is really tasty. I recommend getting a side of sweet potato fries to share, as well as the spinach artichoke dip. Joshua Tree does it "sunset style" by piling the dip on top of cruncy pita chips. When we were there for the Sunday Brunch, the owner was very present by checking in with everyone and giving out sweet shots! For the most part the service is good...

Failed again. Had a previous bad experience, but wanted to try again. No luck. Beware their false advertising. They say food is 1/2 price M-F b/w 5 and 7pm, but I was charged full price. Since I already had been waiting THIRTY MINUTES for my food, I didn't want to make a scene. When I finally got my dinner, the burger was lukewarm and the fries were cold.

Long known for fresh, local beer, a cozy fireplace nook and hearty meals, this brewpub has sadly closed it's doors for good.. The Beers
Head brewer Dann Paquette's suds are well balanced and inventive--his Pilsner was good enough for a silver medal at the 1998 World Beer Championship in Chicago.

Menu Highlights
Chef Thomas Shea prepares both sophisticated bar food and simple, focused entrees. Choose between sandwiches at lunch and grilled dishes, large salads and pastas for dinner (the pizza selection is available all day). For starters, the baked brie is a must. Among entrees, try the wood-grilled filet mignon with whiskey porter sauce or the wood-grilled salmon.

Prices
Portions are huge and the prices are reasonable enough for the sizable Boston College crowd that frequents this place on the weekends.

Entertainment
Weeknights feature mainly acoustic rock and blues. For the weekend brunches it's live blues on Saturday, live jazz on Sunday.
