Beautiful hotel a little out of the way - but what a VIEW!!. Stayed at the Westin Waterfront for 1 night after seeing Wicked at the Opera House. Won the Westin for a great price on Priceline at $120 per night, when the website price was $339.per night. Tried to check in at noon as we had arrived early in Boston. Was offered a room with 2 doubles instatnly or I would have to wait for a King room until approx. 3 pm. Opted to wait since we were going to walk the city anyway. Parked the car at the hotel (kinda steep at $32.00/nite) and went our merry way. Got back to the hotel at 2:30pm & checked in to be put in a King room on the 16th foor next to the Presidential Suite facing downtown Boston. WHAT A GREAT VIEW!!!!!. It was beautiful !!! The room itself was very nice with a king size bed, chair & ottoman, large flat top desk, flat panel TV & wonderful shower with double showerheads. It was very nicely done with an understated elegance. The bed (known as the Heavenly Bed at Westin) was heavenly. We had a wonderful stay and wished it was for morethan one night. We did check out the pool & fitness center which were both very nice on the Mezzanine level. The hotel is attached to the Boston Convention Center so there were hundreds of convention goers everywhere. There is a Starbucks in the lobby that had long lines the whole time we were there. There is also the Birches bar, MJ Oconnors (an irish pub),, Saucity (the Westin's restaurant) and the City Bar all off the Lobby. We had drinks in the City Bar before the theatre & thought it very nice & reasonably priced as well. Overall I would definitely recommend the Westin Waterfront to anyone who is looking for a high quality, well done 4 star experiencs. It's location in the Seaport District is a little off the beaten track, but everything is still within reach as the Silver Line T is a 5 minute walk in front of the hotel or walk to South Station in about 10-15 minutes where you can catch the subway to any part of the city. For the view we had, I would gladly give up the idea of being downtown with all the crowds.& take a leisurely walk for some much needed exercise. A-plus Westin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
O'connors at the Westin on Summer St..
Stopped in Boston to meet our son for a quick lunch in the Southie area and decided to try O'Connors at the Westin on Summer St. We used the parking garage at the hotel. The food was okay, nothing special, but no complaints either.
As we were leaving, we asked our waitress to validate our parking garage ticket and she said she wasn't sure if that could be done. So we asked the hostess and she said she could validate the ticket. We were driving out of the garage and when we got up to the kiosk for the parking ticket, the trouble began. The gate wouldn't open when we inserted our ticket. We couldn't figure out why. A security person walked over and told us that we still owed money to park and that we had to go back into the lobby to pay an additional $16.00 to park even though we just spent money in the restaurant. We were told to leave our car at the gate while we went up to the lobby to pay the balance. There are no signs regarding parking fees posted at the entrance to the garage or in the restaurant. The hostessalso failed to inform us that there would be an additional charge.
Had a sign been posted at the garage entrance, we wouldn't have stayed. I think this is pretty deceptive of the Westin and the employees of the restaurant.
Guess we won't be going back there......
Trendy Hotel with Great Views. I was lucky enough to have stayed in the Presidential Suite here and let me tell you the views from this hotel are amazing. The service from the room service staff was excellent as well.
Great Restaurants in the Hotel!.
While I personally have yet to stay at the Westin I have had many out of town guests who stay there as it is close by to Southie. Everyone has raved about the service and the rooms.
Additionally MJ O'Connors the Irish pub in the lobby has a terrific and diverse menu of old favorites with a trendy twist and flair. They have plenty of beer on tap and TVs spread around to watch your favorite game on TV.
This is a great spot close to everything!
Huge new hotel is connected to the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center and gives the city nearly 800 modern rooms..
With 793 modern rooms and suites and plenty of transportation access to its South Boston location, the Westin Waterfront is perfect for business travelers. The hotel contains a state-of-the-art business center and health club (complete with indoor swimming pool) and more than 30,000 square feet of meeting space. Guests need only head downstairs for drinking and dining options, as Sauciety serves all three meals and the Birch Bar is a relaxing spot for a drink.
