This place is doing everything wrong for it's location

The Rocket Bar, right across from Fenway Park's Gate C, bills itself as the premier pre- and post-game bar. NOT!

When we got there before game time, there may have been 8 people in there (whereas, the Cask n' Flagon had a line of people waiting to get in).

In the first place, it has a nice long bar, with about 6 uncomfortable plastic seats with no backs. Who designed THAT????

In the second place, there is no food.

In the third place, they had an exhibition FOOTBALL game on the TV's, instead of the Sox pre-game show.

And the 3 bartenders couldn't seem to handle a flurry of 8 people that arrived in one group. We felt like reaching over and getting our own beers, just to help out.

Okay, well all that would have been tolerable if it wasn't for the BOOMING music from the DJ. So incredibly LOUD, with jaw-rattling bass, that we couldn't hear ourselves think. One customer complained to the DJ to turn it down, and his reply was "I have no control over it" ?????? We complained to the doorman and he said "we're trying to attract people to come in".

Well, HELLO! ..... all of the above is why people don't come in. Wouldn't a clone of the highly successful and always packed Cask n' Flagon have been a much better idea for that primo location?

If you go, bring ear plugs.

• Cons: Unbearably loud music
