Best Turkey Club in the City. This place knows how to make sandwiches, appetizers, and provides service second to none. I highly recommend this place. Staff is friendly and always willing to go the extra mile.

Diminutive South Boston cafe and takeout spot serves homemade comfort fare.. In Short
Named after a Frank Zappa song, St. Alphonzo's is likewise an original and quirky mainstay for cheap comfort food and friendly service. The menu--including chili con carne, overstuffed deli sandwiches, grilled cheese, calamari, and hefty salads--satisfies without denting the wallet. The dining area is small and cozy, and takeout is available if tables aren't. Sweet treats and baked goods round out the menu.

Best Restaurant in South Boston. Their food is great and the service is even better! We got take out from them and they forgot to put something in the bag for us. Well low and behold they sent us a gift card to their restaurant and sent the food by cab because they do not deliver and quite honestly once you get home with your take out the last thing you want to do is have to go out again. I think this restaurant is simply the best in South Boston.

A Local Favorite. I'm a little nervous about spreading the word about Potbellies because I don't want it to get too crowded, but it's such a gem, I had to write in. Terrific food, friendly service, and reasonable prices - one of the few places in Boston you can find all three together. We love the delicious meatloaf sandwich, the gooey grilled cheese, the Cuban. Even the salads are really fresh and tasty. And the fries are fantastic. Do yourself a favor and get dessert to go if you don't have room and they're serving the cookies. Love this place. Can't say enough good things.

Can't Get Enough!. My husband and I love this new addition to Southie! We go there every chance we get. We have tried many of their appetizers - everything is phenomenal - and our personal favorites are the shrimp scampi, calamari and anitpasto. Potbellie's version of the Cuban sandwich is true love at first bite! All of their entrees come with your choice of sides and I cannot tell which I like more - the entree or the sides. We love their thinly sliced pork chops.....the seasoning is out of this world. Their pasta bolognese and steak entrees are delicious too! And let's not forget about the burger. Unbelievable. The sides range from macaroni salad (who knew it could be so good) to spicy green beans to mashed potatoes. What could be better than the fact that they just added beer and wine to the menu. This affordable, comfortable and friendly spot is a must try!

Just what Southie needed. My boyfriend and I both had great meals at Potbellies. I had the spaghetti bolognese and he the steak which were both fabulous. The prices are extremly reasonable and the service and atmosphere very warming- makes you feel at home.

My boyfriend also recently had lunch there and said the burger was terrific- and they have krinkle fries which is a great bonus!

We'll be frequenting Potbellies- it's nice to have a place in southie other than a pub to get great food at a great price.

Great neighborhood addition. My girlfriend and I tried this place out last Friday night after stumbling upon it while driving around Southie. The inside is tiny - we initially thought it was just a take-out place. The restaurant only has about 5 tables inside. We started off with the shrimp scampi appetizer, which was outstanding. There is a decent, well-rounded selection of entrees along with daily/nightly specials, all of which are very reasonably priced. Our meals were excellent. No dessert menu at this time, but they did serve us Twinkies and Devil Dogs for free when I inquired of dessert. We thought that was a pretty funny touch.

Rumor has it that they'll be receiving a liquor license soon. I'll definitely check it out again.
