Cappuccino and vino live apart no longer at this coffeeshop. The atmosphere at Uptown Espresso is more Florence than Boston, from the gleaming espresso machine to the array of panini and wines by the glass. Owner Faye Faroughi and her friendly staff assure that Uptown attracts many a return customer. Locals and medical students come here to tap away on their laptops, read a book or grab lunch with friends. Uptown's one-up on other area coffee shops is its back patio and its solarium, which lets in the sunlight even during the nastier months. In addition to sandwiches and salads, the menu includes sized-to-split items like the olive plate and Uptown cheese plate.

Best coffee in town. Uptown has that rare atmosphere you seldom find in coffee houses today - and certainly never in the chains - this is the place you want to spend an hour two in with your friends. The coffee great and the food delicious. Check out the gorgeous sun room in winter and the shady deck in summer. The free internet access makes it the perfect place to catch up on Internet correspondence. What it makes it unforgettable is Faye and her team of personable baristas.

Gorgeous Cafe. This cafe is a beautiful space with great food and warm friendly staff. From the coffee drinks to the sandwiches and soups, I have not had a bad meal or experience there.

This business is a fabulous addition to the South End neighborhood.

best coffee shop in southend. Uptown has truly helped to bring the southend community together. The cafe is beautiful, the coffee is excellent, and the owner/employees help make uptown one of the most comfortiing places in this city.
