A response to Humarock John

As the owner of Sands End Cafe, let me first express that my staff and I are constantly trying to improve in all aspects. Therefore, I was determined to find out about the incident that Humarock John referred to in his 4/16/2009 review. We have a small staff and so it was not long before we realized that the incident had never occurred and that the review had been written by a former disgruntled employee. The internet can be a wonderfully positive tool but it also allows for the publishing of untruths. If, however, there really is a Humarock John, I'd like to take this opportunity to extend an invitation to meet with you and make things right. Please feel free to call and ask for Marilyn.

I've only been to this cafe once, but once is one times too many. They screwed up my take-out order, then accused me of never placing it. The manager was so rude, she was downright hostile, and the other two servers on duty were indifferent at best. I had to wait almost an extra hour for my food (the place was not really busy - rush was long over), and it was mediocre with cold french fries. Next time, I go to the beach here, I will pack my own lunch - it will be a far less frustrating experience.
